Latest name for the old Racing Post Chase……

I really like Smarty Wild for this, and though edged out here last time, and up a few pounds for that, this is the race I thought of for him. Think 20’s is fair. This is the race I’ve wanted him to go for, for some time, and very keen on him.

Belami Des Pictons hasn’t been overly impressive this year, but he’s a good horse, way better than current mark, and there was fairly significant market support for him last time. He’s not my #1 here, but if he swerves his weekend engagements, I’ll add him.

It’s a very strong entry, at this stage anyway, but I’d be surprised if most of the bigger names ran here.

I still think that Remastered can be a big name, and for all I can see him winning this, and running well in Gold Cup, increasingly, I see him running a big big race in The Ultima.

Annsam, Good Boy Bobby, and Lalor interest me too.

Our Power at 20-1 for me Bob. I agree with Belami Des Pictons, but I also like her Farinet as well, so just the one for me just now

Nicholls still persisting with Real Steal , he’s a shadow of the horse he was but he’s surely showing something for Nicholls to keep persisting , at 33s off 137 I’ll have a punt

    Real Steel 33s

Kitty’s Light is tumbling down the weights and is looking likely for one of the marathon handicaps in the spring, however I can’t let him go without a small stake at the prices.

Our Power looks really interesting here too and is easy to back. They’ll be my two.

After much humming and harring after not being able to split Cap Du Nord and Five Star Getaway, i’ve settled on Cap Du Nord. Jack Tudor in the plate suggests he’s first string and can claim 3lbs too.

    Phoenix Way for me.
Harry Fry’s stable in great form; i had his Captain Drake 20/1 at Exeter today, so in this competitive race, where i could easily have selected 4 or 5 i’m siding with the in-form trainer. Plus, Brogan on board, takes off 3lb.

Best of luck to all :good:

The Handicapper has given Kittys light some slack and brian Hughes is the right kind of Jockey for this horse.

Deserves a win after some gallant runner up efforts. I fear the track may not play to its strengths though. I’m sure it will put in another solid display and worth a go ew at the price.

I liked Annsam at Ascot. The handicappers hasn’t been too hard on him. Can see hm run a big race again.

    Annsam 7/1

Can’t help but have a small interest in Beakstown here. He’s not been raised for his last two runner-up efforts, where he’s found only the smart duo of Erne River and Imperial Alcazar too good respectively. It’s his first attempt at 3 miles since his pointing days, but if he sees it out (goodish ground at a quick track will help) then the market may well have missed him.

No Real Steel , I’m a big breakaway fan and he,s played along with Enrilo , he,s hit and miss but he seems a better horse later in the season so now maybe the time to play

I’m joining you with The Big Breakaway, I think he has the class to win this. Got a wind op and a spin over hurdles but the big fences are his thing.
