There are plenty you could add to that list but you are correct it is an obsession.

V true, completely forgot the Golden Age; Night Nurse, Sea Pigeon, Monksfield, Birds Nest. I was at Leopardstown for the Xmas meeting 1979 (I think) torrential rain, ground waterlogged, and little Monksfield carrying top weight into 3rd behind Rathinree. We didn’t care that he was beaten, we still loved him

This horses being unbeaten thing is maddening. I am sure I recall John Oxx saying that he was glad Sea The Stars was defeated on debut because it took that nonsense out of the equation.

If Henderson really is preoccupied by Constitution Hill’s unbeaten record, it is a further sign his nerve has gone.

The unbeaten thing is so annoying. Frankel came very close to getting beat by zoffany but would that have changed anything. Plus horses can have bad days for no apparent reason. Loads of folk are more likely to fall in love with horses who try their upmost but occasionally get beat rather than horses who run sparingly and try and stay unbeaten.

He has been in a veterinary hospital since Wednesday night with suspected colic let’s hope he is going to recover.

Absolutely dreadful news. Hopefully he makes a full recovery.

A bad case of Colic would have surely ended his career and potentially, his life.

Not necessarily, Zarak the Brave had a surgical colic and missed most of the main season so went and won the Galway hurdle instead.

Fingers crossed for a smooth recovery for CH.

That’s very bad news, but I hope he’ll make a full recovery. I was just wondering, if the medication he was on could have caused the colic. Antibiotics have a lot of unpleasant side effect in humans, why not in horses?

That’s very ominous. Not sure we will see him race again. Hopefully makes a full recovery. A few horses have died with complications from colic including the gorgeous St Nicholas Abbey.

At home, but out for the season:

Who knows what will happen, if he shouldn’t get him fit for the Fighting Fifth or the Christmas Hurdle. He’s had too many small issues and too often an interrupted preparation.

First and foremost, glad the horse is ok and well enough to leave the hospital to continue his recuperation back at Seven Barrows and then out at grass in a field somewhere for the summer.

Not sure what to make of his future going forward – quite possible he will fully recover and show no ill affects of the issues that have plagued him this season but there is also a lingering doubt now that likely won’t get answered until we see him run in the Fighting Fifth next season.

Glad he is ok and back at the yard. Hopefully a good long summer holiday will do him good.
And that we get to see him back next season

In the “Racing Post”, according to Henderson Constitution Hill “has never looked as well” upon returning to training.

Does that mean a retirement announcement is imminent? ;-)
