Attention, all ye fellow ante-post brethren and (err, sisterthren?) this year’s Constitution Hill carol service will be held outside the great horse’s box on Christmas Eve at 11pm.
Just the one Carol (lyrics below) as realistically we’ll probably only have time for the one number before Nicky Henderson and Nico De Boinville call the Police and we all have to scarper, as my guess is they don’t do much of a Christmas Day Lunch for those held on remand down Lambourn way….
“Oh come, all ye faithful,
joyful and triumphant.
Oh come ye, oh come ye
to La-a-m-bourn.Oh come and behold Him,
Now threes on for the Champion.
Oh come, let us adore Him
Oh come, let us adore Him
Oh come, let us adore Him
Constitution Hill!Oh sing, ante-post punters,
sing in exultation.
Oh come, oh come ye
to Se-ven Barrows.Oh come and behold Him,
Well clear on Official Ratings.
Oh come, let us adore Him
Oh come, let us adore Him
Oh come, let us adore Him
Constitution Hill!O come, all ye faithful
O come, all ye faithful
O come, all ye faithful
to “The Hill’s” box.Oh come and behold Him,
The mare will surely swerve Him!
Oh come, let us adore Him
Oh come, let us adore Him
Oh come, let us adore Him

December 26, 2022 at 14:12 #1628242Prize money.
Last season, the runner up got £95,400 and the third £47,745. Not to be sniffed at.
December 26, 2022 at 14:46 #1628263I know glad but you want to be in the winners enclosure
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
December 26, 2022 at 14:55 #1628270Chezza wouldn’t turn his nose up at a £95,000 enclosure – nor a £47,000 enclosure, come to that.
That’s a lot of hob nobs.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"December 26, 2022 at 16:15 #1628297I wonder if Honeysuckle connections will see the tiniest piece of light in that clumsy jump 2 out today? That and the 2nd prize money might push them this way, leaving Epatante with an easier task in the Mares.
As for Constitution Hill, what a time for purists of the sport to be alive! I read a piece from Geraghty the other day –
“The first time Barry Geraghty rode Constitution Hill in a fast piece of work, he was following in some very famous hoofprints. “It was actually on Jim Dreaper’s grass gallop,” he says, “where Arkle and Flyingbolt and all those horses would have galloped for years. There’s been one or two aeroplanes landing in that field.”
Constitution Hill was another. “I worked him over about a mile and six on the grass,” Geraghty recalls, “so you’re going at a nice even pace and then you quicken in the last half-mile.
“An average horse will quicken once and gallop away, the really nice one will quicken a second time, but this fella just kept quickening, kept quickening. Where you pull up, it goes into a ploughed field, so you’d like to have them pulled up before that. This fellow was in the ploughed field before we knew it.”

Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
December 26, 2022 at 17:48 #1628326I know I’m biased but, Cheltenham left handed, Kempton Park right-handed, Sandown Park Heavy ground, smashing standard on quicker ground at Prestbury Park….the result is always the same: effortless annihilation.
He’s rising six next week and still lightly raced.
It will be a long, long, time – maybe even never – before any horse beats him on merit.
Full credit for anyone looking for value against him, but apart from a bit of each-way thieving place value if seven actually ever take him on, it’s futile exercise with this beast.

Will he jump a fence? Maybe Nicko should consider aiming for a Gold Cup if he trots up in this year’s Champion HurdleDecember 27, 2022 at 05:13 #1628384Champ hurdle , arkle , champ chase , KG then Gold cup , on the day he wins the 2026 GC Chezza will be walking around Cheltenham like Gandhi , young women and Irish punters alike being told the story of he ” God ” , they’ll be a traditional ” breaking of the biscuit ‘ when he wins
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
December 27, 2022 at 06:52 #1628385Befair- in what way can Shishkin be called a morning glory? The horse won ten races in a row, including four Grade Ones. He may have disappointed the last twice, but he is about as far from a “morning glory” as you can get.
