Ben, if Constitution Hill fails a post-race dope test because there’s cannabis in his system, you know who the prime suspect will be, don’t you?
First rule: no sharing a joint with the long odds-on Champion Hurdle favourite while on guard duty!

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"December 4, 2022 at 16:18 #16258261/2 is a distant memory. 2/5 is the best price now and some firms are going 2/7.
I know I always say there is more to the season than Cheltenham but my two antepost vouchers have no objection to Henderson wrapping up Constitution Hill in cotton wool until 14th March 2023!
December 4, 2022 at 16:24 #1625828CH can give them a hurdle start and still win , very happy with my pied piper e.w get to
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
December 4, 2022 at 17:09 #1625842Still 1.53 (8/15 less commission) available to £798 at Betfair Exchange, but the bookmakers are way shorter.
These are no longer odds about him winning, they are odds about an act of God intervening.
Because that’s what it will now take.

December 4, 2022 at 19:08 #1625854Not a cat in hells chance of ch getting near kyprios who may turn out to be one of the best stayers ever. I get the hype with ch but just remember there is always another horse capable of bursting through.
December 4, 2022 at 20:23 #1625865It is not “hype” with Constitution Hill.
He won a Supreme by 22 lengths, beating a horse who has subsequently won Grade 1s over hurdles and fences and is now a short priced favourite for the Arkle.
His first run in open company saw him beat a multiple Grade 1 winner by 12 lengths while giving her 7lbs.
He is the highest ever rated novice hurdler and in just four runs to date has already posted two figures better than Honeysuckle has achieved.
All of that is tangible achievement – not hype.
December 4, 2022 at 20:35 #1625868Figures are just that, figures. Every day is different and it’s tough to consistently perform to such a high level. Hawk wing surely taught us that. Staying sound is also no guarantee as well. Ch is clearly an exceptional horse but he still has to go and do it race after race. Only then can he be seen as a great horse.
December 4, 2022 at 21:05 #1625871I’m not sure everyone understands what the word “hype” actually means.
When a horse has won a Supreme by 22 lengths and destroyed a previous Champion Hurdle winner and a Cesarewitch third, on both occasions smashing the standard, that’s tangible achievements, not hype.

For the sake of all of us I shall adhere to this request, it is for the greater good after all!
December 5, 2022 at 01:43 #1625890The test results will take weeks. They’ll all still get paid out so wouldn’t worry!
December 5, 2022 at 01:55 #1625892Genius tonge, with this logic I should give performance enhancing drugs to all of my ante-post bets. I can only imagine something like that has never been done before by any trainer(s)
December 5, 2022 at 02:30 #1625894If you’re trying to please owners or trainers, it’s a problem. If it’s only the TRF ante-post backers, it’s fine (I say “only”, obviously an ugly crowd at the best of times!).
Performance enhancing drugs don’t work though. God knows I’ve tried a few!
December 5, 2022 at 12:48 #1625938Surely a bit of the old white stuff would help a horse in the final few furlongs of a Gold Cup, they don’t call it marching powder for nothing!
December 5, 2022 at 14:34 #1625952Ben,
It would help a lot more than that, and did back around the end of the Victorian era, when American trainers came over here. Read this for more info:
December 9, 2022 at 22:46 #1626370Epatante, 12 lengths runner up to Constitution Hill, who was conceding the weight-for-gender 7lb to her, in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle, reappears relatively quickly (just two weeks later) in the International Hurdle at Cheltenham tomorrow.
There are those on social media who are quite offensive in their remarks about Henderson – giving him unflattering nicknames and being more preoccupied with his choice of headgear than his training prowess.
But I think there’s no shrewder student of the programme book.
He once placed spring horse My Tent Or Yours to win this because the race conditions were favourable and he wouldn’t be bringing Epatante out again so quick unless he thought the race conditions tomorrow gave her a winning chance.
Some say fourth-placed 10yo (rising 11) OR 133 Voix Du Reve holds down the Fighting Fifth form.
I will be interested to see if Epatante can frank it tomorrow.
