February 21, 2026 at 15:38 #1755718Kauto won a Lancashire Chase and a King George on his 3rd last and 2nd last start.
February 21, 2026 at 15:39 #1755719“Denman was never the same after the heart issue”
Constitution Hill hasn’t been the same since his first fall
Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
February 21, 2026 at 15:40 #1755720”he was the better stayer”
No he wasn’t. Wasn’t better than Kauto at anything.
Kauto won 14 races at 3m+. 13 of those were Grade 1s including 2 Gold Cups and 5 King Georges.
Denman was a class horse but Kauto stands alone in the modern era as King.
February 21, 2026 at 15:41 #1755721He pulled up on his last.. Your point , I’ve never doubted Kauto was a great horse I just prefer Denman and have given my reasoning , bar the GC the 2 horses had different paths

February 21, 2026 at 15:41 #1755722Head to Head in the GC Denman was in front of the Kauto

February 21, 2026 at 15:42 #1755723It isn’t holy writ but for what it is worth, this is Timeform’s opinion.

Personally, I think arguments about which horse is the greatest are pointless. We will never know for certain and all anyone can do is offer an opinion. Preferably in a respectful manner..
February 21, 2026 at 15:44 #1755727Who out of the list achieved the most ?
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
February 21, 2026 at 15:48 #1755733In all honesty I don’t really care which horse is meant to have achieved the most. Enjoy them all on their own terms. Instead of pointless arguments about X horse would have beaten Y horse which ran 25 years earlier.
February 21, 2026 at 15:50 #1755734I didn’t ask who beat would beat who ( others have ) I asked who achieved most , I think on that list we all know who , the point I’ve been been making for over 2 hours
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
February 21, 2026 at 15:51 #1755735I enjoy a good debate about what it means to be the “best” or to be “great”, and who meets these criteria. But I’ve never seen a discussion of this type where anyone changes anyone else’s mind.
February 21, 2026 at 15:54 #1755736This place is like the house of commons minus the drinking and back handers , throw abuse and conjecture but Jesus never ever change your view lol
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
February 21, 2026 at 15:56 #1755737Haha, yes there are some parallels with the House of Commons now you mention it HDLG!
February 21, 2026 at 16:08 #1755742“Grangeclare West has just beaten Gerri Colombe further than Galopin Des Champs did in the Gold Cup. That obviously means that Grangeclare West Is better than Galopin.”
Finally somebody acknowledges GCW’s true greatness
If he’d been in the gold cup last year he’d have strolled it.February 21, 2026 at 16:13 #1755743At 16.08 Green joins the party , he throws a firework in the room and takes the conversation to an even more dark and complicated place …
