    Spot on Cormack,
Choc Thornton is using his column to speedily make himself appear an irrelevant and out of touch lightweight.

In this case I agree with Choc.

Don’t see what an immediate interview adds to the programme.

But then again, I’ve always been behind the times. 8)

Much rather see a re-run of at least the closing stages, if not the whole thing. Just as well wait until the jockey has had time to think of anything other than "yippie" and spoken to connections. Especially when they are asked "where should he go from here"? If the jockey gives his opinion it could lead to a difference with owner and trainer; which could be played upon by the media.

Is it a good time for Pat Keane to bring out an article like this when we’re all trying to get AP a deserved award?

    All?

TAPK – I’ll bet even Lydia doesn’t use great big words like vindilificated.

Blatant lunge for Pinza’s vote, if you ask me.

What’s the extra "lifi" bit in the middle for TAPK?

OK Ginger I agree that were unlikely to get anything particularly revealing or insightful in the immediate post-race interview but, thinking of recent moments, wasn’t it great to see Sam Twiston Davies interviewed after the Paddy Power and Daryl Jacob after the Hennessey, their obvious delight brought alive in a way that wouldn’t necessarily have been the case if we’d been watching re-runs (and we can have the interview AND the re-run can’t we).

In any case – if we’d never had post-race interviews we’d never have had Lester telling Thommo to f*** off.

Thanks Shabby (but steady on – I’m trying to keep the subject of jockey’s columns low-profile at the minute)

Ah, those were the days! I only wish more of today’s jocks would follow his line – much more entertaining all round than the customary bland drivel.

    Not quite right TAPK.

"Vindilification" means the tendency for all curries to aspire to the condition of Vindaloo (Bengali: "vindiloo") so suggests the heating up of an argument, by both/all parties. Trust me. I’m an ancient lexicographer.

Careful Pinza, using your dictionarys as Chapatis and dipping them in your Vindaloo could easily cause deflammatorical swellings in the bowel!

Can someone explain why A P McCoy was whipping poor Get Me Out Of Here in the closing stages there? Being the horseman that he is, you would have thought he would have left him to come home in his own time.
