Dr. Eggman has been very expensive to follow, however there is nothing in the race that could trouble him.
I wonder if Townend has ever ridden at Perth. It’s a pretty tricky track for horses and jockeys.April 24, 2024 at 13:57 #1691635Dr. Eggman, once again a solid odds-on third. Excellent ride by Ella Herbison, saved my the reverse forecast.
April 24, 2024 at 14:45 #1691636Suspect that may be Dr eggman off to the sales
April 24, 2024 at 15:29 #1691637I kind of like the Perth results so far…. Nothing wrong with short odds-on favs being turned over. Always see the positive of such racecards.
April 24, 2024 at 15:35 #1691638Dr Eggman makes Henry Adams look half good
Charles Darwin to conquer the World
April 27, 2024 at 21:50 #1692082Some achievement to be able to follow in the footseps of Vincent O’Brien. A great achievement and I hope they enjoy the party.
April 27, 2024 at 22:07 #1692086Congratulations to Willie Mullins and his team.
A great achievement.Value Is EverythingApril 27, 2024 at 22:11 #1692088You couldn’t ask for more. They were dominating at Cheltenham, Aintree, Ayr and Sandown. There can’t be any doubts or arguments about him winning the Championship.
Well done to him and his entire team!
April 27, 2024 at 22:55 #1692091tbh I don’t think ANY trainer should win the Season’s Trainer’s Championship with so few winners, over so short a time frame ERL.
But to do so was a great achievement none the less, so we should salute him for doing so.
Value Is EverythingApril 27, 2024 at 23:02 #1692092Mark, if Nicholls or Hendo would have won the same amount of big races at the four above mentioned meetings no one would have bothered.
April 27, 2024 at 23:54 #1692097They have in previous seasons, ERL.
There’s been talk of whether the Trainers Title should be changed to reflect the number of winners – in a similar way to jockeys – for a decade or more now. I seem to remember threads on TRF about it.
Value Is EverythingApril 28, 2024 at 13:11 #1692134While I won’t begrudge Willie Mullins a well earned achievement and there’s no doubt he’s one of the best if not the best NH trainer currently. However I do think it’s easier to succeed with a stable packed full of good horses funded by rich owners where as a stable with horses of lesser ability to my mind should receive as much praise if not more for being able to get into the winners enclosure on a regular basis with maybe someone else’s cast offs and without anything like the same purchasing power when at the sales. These people are the ‘bread & butter’ of racing and deserve to be acknowledged for the superb job they do while spending most of their time very much in the shade.
good luck to allApril 28, 2024 at 14:31 #1692142If he goes all out to win everything next year to retain his title that’s me done with racing. I can’t watch smaller yards missing out in the handicaps that are their bread and butter because someone has so much firepower.
April 28, 2024 at 14:38 #1692144Never mind best nh trainer , you could argue he’s the best racehorse trainer in the world just now , I don’t begrudge him any of it as he’s worked very hard to get there
May 27, 2024 at 08:27 #1695754Mullins had the winner of the first race at Fontwell yesterday, landing odds of 1/9. It is not normally Mullins’s style to have runners at these sort of meetings.
Interviewed before the race, Patrick Mullins indicated he would like to ride at a few more British tracks.
A small sign Mullins may be having more runners in Britain in future and wants to defend the title?
May 27, 2024 at 08:42 #1695755The winning prize money yesterday was £4066.00. I have no idea how much it costs to get a horse, jockey and stable staff from Closutton to Fontwell but, if it is financially viable, there’s nothing to stop WPM mopping up bumpers and novice hurdles all over the UK this season.
May 30, 2024 at 18:45 #1696085Mullins ran another one at Warwick tonight. Won with its head in its chest.
