I know it’s not a big race as such, but I did not know where else too put it. This race always throws up a couple of very well handicapped horses. I fancy the JP horse quite strongly here. Jonjo’s son up (not Bazza), this horse will be well primed for tomorrow I’d say. I’ve backed Palmers Hill quite heavily at 10’s & 9’s.
I’ve also had a saver on the Nicholls horse Thedellarcheckout. And a R/F/C the pair at best prices.
November 17, 2018 at 17:23 #1380822A tricky race Nausered. I like Aasleagh Dawn and Offshore Oscar here at 10/1 and 14/1. I will split my stakes on that pair, and I think that OO will be the one for each way.
I think you are on the best of the hone challengers, good lick with them, but I must also give a word to Mr Mafia, I think he could easily fill a place.
November 18, 2018 at 05:20 #1380871I’m on Palmers Hill each way at 9/1 too
November 18, 2018 at 10:51 #1380887The Dellercheckout might improve enormously for the recent wind op ( many do with Nicholls ) but it’ll have to as I can’t recall many such once paced horses at Ditcheat as this one.
I think I’d rather back Solo Saxophone at bigger odds : ran well here in the Fred Winter, the blinkers are back on after being absent for that disappointing reappearance last time and his 10lb claimer has a Cheltenham win already under his saddle.
November 18, 2018 at 11:42 #1380898Good luck Nausered, I think Deller is the one to beat here, but I missed the price.
Mark, had a look at Sax, but in the end it’s the one that Autumnal mentions that I’m going to chance here. Mr Mafia can surely be competitive here, and I like the 33’s to 6 Places. I also like the shout for Offshore Oscar, but one only for me here.
November 18, 2018 at 11:43 #1380899Could not agree more Mark, he did look very one paced, and pretty clueless last year. But, he’s Nicholls choice for this race, and he’s yard is on fire. As I said in the first post, you always tend to get a couple of very well handicapped horses sent too this race from the big stables. His price has collapsed since last night, 9-2 from 10-1 is a pretty hefty move. Nicholls tends to train some of them in a slightly different way too my eyes, ever since his stable is not full up with G1 performers anymore. I topped up on Thedellarcheckout last night at 9-1 (original bet & forecasts were at 10-1), into more than a saver. I’m still on Palmers Hill more (5 points), but I also now have 3 points on the Nicholls horse too, instead of just 1. The wind ops are a new thing for him as you know, I’ve done very well backing his horses this year who have had one. I never back two horses in one race more than a saver normally, but I have today. I just could not make up my mind with these two, so I’ve backed them both at best prices too win, and a 1-2 would do me very nicely indeed here.
I’d say there’s a pretty good chance we are going to see a slightly different Nicholls animal too last year win lose or draw, going on the above.
November 18, 2018 at 11:59 #1380902Thanks VTC mate, this is the big race of the day for me. I have a large win double on Claimantakinforgan & Sceau Royal at 2-1 & 11-8. But that’s my only other bet of the day apart from this race. Nicholls and Ibis Du Rheu done me a massive turn yesterday, I really fancied him on good ground, and 13-2 was an absolute steal.
Good luck mate today

Great ride Jonjo!!
November 18, 2018 at 13:29 #1380920Excellently called both!
November 18, 2018 at 13:31 #1380921I loved the way he sat still when first Dellar, then another horse came past him MOM. He looked the winner all the way too me. A very very good ride that.
Thanks Joliff.
November 18, 2018 at 13:36 #1380924Yeah, good call with Palmers Hill, folks.
My lad stayed on well from a pretty hopeless position and I’ll be following it through the season; jockey gave it no chance
Dellercheckout ?! I wouldn’t back it in a walkover
November 18, 2018 at 13:41 #1380925You were so right with him Mark. No change there really at all.
Wasted money on the forecasts and on Dellar. But, I had a lot of money on Palmers too win, half at 10’s and half at 9’s. Who’s Dellar again lol?
I’m just glad Bazza was not able to ride and bodge it up mate, Jonjo rode that superbly.
November 18, 2018 at 13:42 #1380926Very well done Nausered and MOM, you’re in very decent form at the moment. I should feel a bit miffed
at you both, as I had Unblinking (as declared in the Cheltenham competition) and I thought he looked
like a winner when he got to the front, but your nag still had some in hand and toughed it out well.
They were well apart at the line so I’m not sure the distance, maybe a length but I’m not sure. Well
done both being ahead of the SP
I should have said I did okay e/w at 16s.
November 18, 2018 at 13:47 #1380928Well played guys
November 18, 2018 at 13:50 #1380929Thanks BigG, well done on the second at big odds, I should have looked to you for the forecast mate! Ah I’m on a very nice little run at the moment, I’ll say no more, as I don’t want to bodge it. Max bets just keep winning right now though, long may it continue!
November 18, 2018 at 13:51 #1380930Thanks VTC, a great day already mate.
November 19, 2018 at 02:01 #1380990He was very good wasn’t he? Great stuff. Ride of the day for me.
Well done Nausered.
