Added Little Big Bear 3-1
May 27, 2023 at 15:08 #1649280That was convincing enough, 7/1 before that, now 2/1, i did say in the guineas thread hed be fav for this after that race and the bookies seemed to take a different view, stupidly enough, i never backed him at 7/1 though so ill just give it a miss now and enjoy him winning
May 27, 2023 at 15:14 #1649285The only horses I can see getting near him are sakheer and noble style if he bounces back
Don’t think the rest have the class of those 3
May 27, 2023 at 15:15 #1649288Mike must have taken all the 3/1 before I could get on. Still happy enough with a shade under 11/4.
It is going to take a good one to beat him over 6 furlongs.
May 27, 2023 at 15:19 #1649290Mike has the fastest fingers on the forum Corky…

May 27, 2023 at 17:01 #1649325He was so fast he got the correct combination before the question had even been asked
May 27, 2023 at 17:21 #1649330I’m struggling to believe anything behind the front two ran its race tbh.
Career best for Shouldvebeenaring, I’m sure, but to what degree is open to conjecture.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"May 27, 2023 at 18:16 #1649336I found it an odd race and I believe the commentary said finishing like three mile chasers.
The things I want most in life are the things that I can't win.
May 30, 2023 at 15:54 #1649620I see the BHA gave Little Big Bear a performance rating of 116 for Saturday with Shouldvebeenaring up 10lb to a career best 112 from 102.
The those in behind are said to have run in excess of 20lb below form.
I’d say those numbers are absolute guesses.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"June 20, 2023 at 20:23 #1652386Many questioned the merit of the form of Little Big Bear’s recent Haydock Park win.
But take Shouldvebeenaring out of the race and Little Big Bear wins by nine and a quarter lengths from Bradsell, who was a not dissimilar margin (eight and a half lengths) behind him at The Curragh last August.
Pure coincidence?
Whether it was or not, Bradsell won the King’s Stand today.
Wouldn’t surprise me to see Little Big Bear go off odds-on in this now.
As for Shouldvebeenaring who reopposes, I wouldn’t have minded seeing him running off his OR of 112 (minus the 7lb weight-for-age allowance) in the Wokingham.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"June 21, 2023 at 21:03 #1652693Looks a belting race to me
Little big bear
Sakheer
Lezzoo
Mischief magic
Noble styleAll fit the profile of high class 2yos that have such a good record in this race
Lezoo could be the interesting one at the prices her defeat of mawj and meditate reads rather well
Mischief magic also looks very overpriced given he thrived when given quick ground and a strong pace to aim at in the breeders cup
But he only managed a well beaten 4th behind LBBs stablemate blackbeard in the middle park, and as good as he was as a 2yo LBB was better
One of the best races of the week imo
The unofficial 6f classic and a race that has far more revelance to future stallions than the leger these days
I hope the odds are right for my antepost bet and LBB is a strong fav but I think he’s too short as there are plenty of good ones for him to beat
June 21, 2023 at 21:13 #1652694I like my “what ifs” and I’ve got a couple here.
What if Little Big Bear had never run in the 2,000 Guineas?
And what if Shouldvebeenaring had never taken him on at Haydock Park?
In that parallel universe Little Big Bear goes into this race, having beaten yesterday’s King’s Stand winner eight and a half lengths into fourth at The Curragh last August and then come out and beat him nine and a quarter lengths at Haydock.
And consequently Little Big Bear is definitely – DEFINITELY – well odds-on for this.
It’s not a hypothesis that leads to a bet at exciting odds on this occasion, but I took out insurance against him turning out to be a sprinter by backing him for this at 6/1 last August, I went in again at 2/1 after Haydock and had more at 6/4 after the King’s Stand.
Not only do I think he will win, but I think Shouldvebeenaring could be the one for the forecast again and I’m beyond gutted they didn’t put him in the Wokingham because, off his current mark, I think he’d have won it.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"June 21, 2023 at 22:19 #1652705He should be about 1/2 against this field currently, im still kicking myself for not taking that 7/1 i cant believe hes still odds against
Im never afraid of backing anything at any price if i think ittl win and i was going to sit it out because i missed the price after the guineas, but i think he’ll win this by half the track so it would be stupid to not lump on
This idea that sakheer will give him a race confuses me, hes beat nothing over this trip very easily, LBB would have beaten the same horses twice the distance, shaquilles probably hit hos ceiling now, lezoo – not in this lifetime, everything else i wouldnt touch, i agree ian that SBR will be the one to follow him home
Bar the fav it really is an average bunch hes rated at minimum 10lbs ahead of everything…

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"June 22, 2023 at 21:30 #1652937Just to pick at your words Ham, Sakheer beat Shouldvebeenaring over 4 lengths in the Mill Reef. I think he’s dangerous and the value play at 9/2.
I’m not snubbing LBB altogether but he’ll only be a saver. Apart from Shaquille, I didn’t like the rest of the field, I’m having a few quid on that 1-2-3.
Sakheer the main play dough. -
