Little Big Bear might be on a lot of shortlists here if he fails to stay the Rowley Mile, but one who looks a sprinter through and through to me is Mischief Magic, today’s Sirenia Stakes winner at Kempton Park.
By Exceed And Excel, full brother to Sound Of Silence, and very speedy in my view.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"September 4, 2022 at 04:32 #1613302Noble Style looks the one if LBB does stay a mile. Marshman looks a talented fast horse to me and Noble Style picked him off no bother at York in a time only 0.6 seconds slower than the Nunthorpe. I have my doubts about Noble Style getting a mile.

The middle park and Cheveley park will tell us more

The Gimcrack is 6f, the Nunthorpe is 5f.
The latter was 0.32s fast for 5f, the former 0.31s slow for 6f.
Noble Style, for sure, clocked a good time for a 2yo, though.

Apologies, yes, I should’ve added it was relatively fast for a sprint.
September 4, 2022 at 12:04 #1613341I essentially agree with you, Mike, taking weights carried and weight-for-age into account, it looks a decent time for a 2yo by Noble Style.
Exciting colt.

September 11, 2022 at 13:45 #1614289I agree – they’ve pulled well clear of the OR 104 third and that’s decent form IMO.
Just 1.64s outside standard – time of the day by a country mile so far.
14/1 with William Hill.

March 21, 2023 at 14:45 #1640837Little big bear 8/1 (cash)
Noble style 10/1 (free bet)My two here
Both could be very good sprinters and may trouble the older horses later in the season

May 2, 2023 at 20:01 #1646370Pavilion stakes tomorrow full of plenty of likely types
Should be an excellent race
Bradsells conventry win beating Persian Force, Royal scotsman and blackbeard looks the best piece of form on offer
Mischief magic has a penalty to carry for winning at the breeders cup and being by exceed and excel would prefer better ground
Trillium has ability but looked a 5f horse in the Cheveley park stakes, running way too freely and giving herself no hope
Charlie fellowes seems to think marbaan will be better dropped to 6f and says he did a nice piece of work the other day
May 6, 2023 at 16:44 #1646806Little Big Bear 11-2. Coming here next i expect.
May 6, 2023 at 16:52 #1646818Very tempted to back him too now Mike
May 6, 2023 at 17:03 #1646830Even allowing for conditions going against him, it was a moderate effort. There is still far too much to take on trust. He might not have trained on.
Training a horse to try to win over a mile and then expecting him to win over 6 furlongs just a few weeks later is not straightforward.
May 6, 2023 at 17:05 #1646832CAS he pulled like a train. Put a line through it i reckon.
