At times like these: i just hope he comes back alive. Naturally it is just awful if anything has happened to him (a mugging, kidnapping etc) but quite frankly i just want the man back alive and well.
RUK has just broadcast a Missing Person Appeal,
at the request of the Leeds PoliceBoth RUK and atr are issuing

Members of West Yorkshire Police’s underwater search unit concentrated their attention on the stretch of river overlooked by the city centre block of flats where Fraser lived alone.
The last sighting of Fraser was on CCTV leaving the building at around 2am on Friday morning, but his motivation for going out at that time is not known.
A police spokesman said: "I can confirm that we are currently searching the River Aire in and around the city centre."

Yeah this is well iffy……dear oh dear.
My good friend used to work beside Dougie many years ago. He says he was a thoroughly decent and nice guy to be around. Dougie used to be voice heard in the bookies’ old tannoy system.
I pray he is safe and well.

Where and when did Dougie last Commentate? Makes you wonder what goes through someones mind to go out at 2am and jump in a river,which unfortunately is the picture being painted! Poor Dougie must have been suffering in silence,but whats been troubling him? A commentators job requires a clear mental thought process,any anxietys would surely have surfaced through repeated mistakes when calling his races.No doubt the truth will surface in time and we can only hope there is no third party involved! Wherever you are Doug,my thoughts are with you Soldier!
Where and when did Dougie last Commentate?
I was trawling through the ATR replays last night and noted he was at Sedgefield on 26 May.
Doug called the Zetland Gold Cup card at Redcar only last Monday.
Just thought i"d have a quick listen to Dougies Commentary of the Zetland Gold Cup and as per usual it was 1st class,he never missed a moment,picking up on the 1st 2 home way out! Talent like that is few and far between and it just makes you realise what a great commentator is missing!
More info today in the post, apparantely the police
who broke into his flat found his wallet ’empty’ and also
his mobile phone.They’ve apparantely searched the river opposite
his flat to no avail and you’ve got to wonder, where was
he going at 2am?Terrible thoughts on this….
This is absolutely awful, a very nice guy and a good commentator too!
I do hope he turns up alive and well, but the signs and indications aren’t great.
He is scheduled to be working at Doncaster
and some other meeting (atr) this weekend.
