Always gets a small but select field this, and this year looks no different…………

Initially wanted Beauport to run here rather than Ascot, but looking at it again, The Real Whacker could be a tough one to beat. I think the biggest negative for The Real Whacker is that they’re using it as a prep for Newbury, in which case they won’t be damaging his mark.
Mahler Mission a very promising one, while they seem to think loads of Monbeg Genius.
This rarely gets an Antepost market, so don’t have to worry about it too much.
I’d actually prefer to see Beauport at Ascot now, in which case I’ll probably stick with Bass Rock. He’ll probably be a decent enough price, he’s my usual Sandy Thomson angle, and he does go well fresh. Talking myself into it
Bass Rock 11’s (expecting R4)

Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
October 31, 2023 at 20:40 #1668704I can’t see any of these being available at lumpier odds, but I’d love TRW to run, to give me a price on Thunder Rock
November 3, 2023 at 13:44 #1668921I love this race. The most hipster race of the year.
Hope they all show, but fear it may be a five-runner or less field, which will be a huge pity.
I’m not sure we know how good Bill Baxter can be, yet.
I bloody love Beauport too. One of my weak spots, that one.
November 5, 2023 at 21:27 #1669509Mahler Mission should be Aintree bound after that run
