Noticed it’s generally the same people on here. Talking nonsense as usual. Sometimes the can be a topic of real interest or light enough so I can join in, but usually it’s political or things which I’ve no interest in. Like Purwell I keep to myself my betting habit, but do like the competitions as it shows how people really think.

Depends on your definition of nonsense.

I have noticed a shift to the centre left, as much prompted by centre right departures as anything else.

But I’d say it no more than reflects the national opinion polls in the last year, suggesting there’s no more nonsense talked here than in the country at large.

Some of the IMO most interesting contributors clearly don’t support the Labour Party – or indeed necessarily any Party – and I find it an intriguing more eclectic mix than ever.

I also have to admit that I think courtesy on the forum is at all all-time high.

Yes, there are still one or two deluded individuals who wrongly think being rude is a free bet and won’t result in them being ignored by me forever after, but generally speaking it’s a lovely place to be.

If they do the awards again, choosing my vote for Forumite Of The Year will be a nigh on impossible task.

I’ve got a very long “short list!”

CAS – consistently brilliant, thought provoking and will challenge literally everything.

Gladders – similar, also has the most sublime line in sarcasm – I’ve never laughed at so many perceptive jokes at my own expense in my life.

Richard – Possibly the most fair minded man on the planet. And also witty.

Nathan – Comedy genius, simple as that. And actually really knows his racing.

Turkoman – Passionate international racing enthusiast who often draws my attention to big races abroad that might otherwise escape my attention.

Ben – A bombshell of positive input and a prolific poster of late.

HDLG – A progressively-prolific contributor, opinionated, consistent, and frequently tongue in cheek and amusing.

And that’s just an ad hoc Magnificent Seven off the top of my head.

There are many others who provide compelling reading, including in the more betting-specific folders which I increasingly frequent.

The Lounge would be my main focus at TRF, but it’s just a great all-round forum.
