My eye was immediately drawn to Galia Des Liteaux who won the novice chase on the card last year
January 8, 2024 at 21:15 #1676704People should be asked to provide proof Mike if the prices that someone claims to have secured are too fanciful to be believed by every other member of the forum. To be polite, it’s called integrity. To give it a more authentic description would be to say you’re lying!
January 9, 2024 at 01:40 #1676713Definitely a race where I’ll have two, but right now Ramses De Teille really appeals back down to a decent mark, and at a track where he won very very nicely first time out last year
As for second selection, was thinking maybe Percussion or Broken Halo, but another one with recent course form is Volcano, and at this time he’ll be second choice
Edit – Cashed him out with The Veterans on the same card
No bet just now then, but probably a lot keener on Volcano now
Ramses De Teille
VolcanoJanuary 9, 2024 at 22:39 #1676779‘So it was priced up earlier today when the entries were announced and he was indeed 20’s at one point’
Kendal, you’re missing the point. I absolutely understand if you’re not aware of this shysters routine, but he is regularly pulled up for this. It doesn’t matter if 20’s was available or not. The point is that he has just looked up Oddschecker, noted what horse has been backed, and then put it up as his selection at the earlier price. He does this incessantly. He is forever getting fancy big prices ante-post, yet come the day of the race his arrow or dart always lands on the first or second favourite.
I called him out on a corker last year, when he put up a price from Oddschecker, unaware that the price hadn’t actually went ‘live’ at any time
Back here on Planet Reality, I have backed Galia De Liteux at 139-1 with Blue Square who are nrnb 8plc, or 14-1 generally if you’d prefer
January 9, 2024 at 22:44 #1676781Haven’t been on here for a while, but I see “Ripping Yarns” is still going strong.
Always thought Michael Palin’s version funnier than Mike’s though.
I remember being at Warwick as a student when Bonum Omen won this race.
I had a million to one ante-post and I chatted up Samantha Fox and Linda Lusardi, who both just happened to be in the Silver Ring alongside me, for good measure.
If Carlsberg made tall stories….

Silver Spoon what you on about? lol. Do you think I have got the time to be noting what horses are being backed?
“He is forever getting fancy big prices ante-post, yet come the day of the race his arrow or dart always lands on the first or second favourite.”
And that doesn’t make much sense either. I may back another horse in the race. Nowt wrong with having 2 darts at it. Btw pricewise does similar thing at times anyway, an ante post selection and then a different horse come the race.
January 10, 2024 at 19:06 #1676855Major Dundee into 7s in places now. Been proving popular this week ;o)
January 11, 2024 at 07:46 #1676893If this forum was more popular and there were mods live on it more often I’d take the opportunity to report you for the amount of lies you post Mike.
It’s charlatan behaviour, the rest of us can see through it yet you’re still dumb enough to continue with it.
January 11, 2024 at 10:04 #1676897It’s certainly a big part of why I don’t bother posting in this folder much any more.
Out in the actual real world, I know genuine professional and semi-professional punters and the one thing that defines them all as legitimate is their regular admission to occasional mistakes along the way.
They missed a price, they bet under the odds, they backed a non runner, things go wrong and, being long-term winners, they can never get on anywhere for long.
All this kindergarten fantasy stuff about mythical prices and cashing out in the nick of time brings this forum into disrepute virtually every day of the week.
It’s a shame, really, as there are some genuine people here.
But the moderators don’t seem to care, so it is what it is.

January 11, 2024 at 11:04 #1676905As I said before the idea that I am lying is in people’s heads. It isn’t my problem so moderators don’t need to take any action. In reply to some of Ian’s post…
Have I backed a horse antepost at a price smaller than at decs? – yes
Have I backed a NR antepost before? – yes
Have I had a betting account closed before? – yes
Do I lie about my selections on the forum? – no
Do I care if a tip and a price has long gone after a forum member has posted it? – no
Do I believe Greenasgrass’ recent posts about her cash outs? – yesJanuary 11, 2024 at 11:06 #1676906“Don’t forget his 16/1 for the Oaks about Opera Singer with a bookmaker he refuses to name, obtained 5 seconds after the filly had demolished the field in the Marcel Boussac.”
What’s truly hilarious (and sad) about that, CAS, is that, if Opera Singer wins the Oaks, some naive muppet on here will be congratulating him on the thread I started after taking 28s weeks before the Boussac.
You couldn’t make it up.

All winners should be congratulated no matter what price they got if a forum member wishes to do so. The ones congratulating I consider to be nice people at that moment, not the description you have just given for them.
January 11, 2024 at 13:04 #1676917Getting back to the race, Monbeg Genius doesn’t go and a field of 14 is headed by Malina Girl. I really like her and feel she could outclass this lot but, having backed her at 50s for the Grand National, wonder why her normally shrewd trainer is running her here when her mark of 146 would almost certainly get her a run at Aintree, even with the reduced field size.
January 11, 2024 at 13:34 #1676919Has he stated the national as the end goal glad?
If not he must be pot hunting
January 11, 2024 at 13:37 #1676920Not that I have seen, FF. That’s why I took the 50s; she won’t be anywhere near that if Cromwell states that it’s her target.
January 11, 2024 at 14:02 #1676922Won’t be easy to win with 12 stone top weight. Would be a first. Jockey allowance is a help.
