I cannot bring myself to refer to the contest by its lurid bookmaker sponsorship title.
Doubly-entered Soulcombe complicates matters but, should he go for the Old Borough Handicap instead, stable mate Post Impressionist interests me.
He looked desperately in need of a distance of ground when a hopelessly-outpaced third over 1m2f at Beverley last Saturday.
He’s out of a mare who was Group-placed at 1m1f on the Flat, but is also a winning hurdler!
Spey Caster, also entered at Ascot but jocked up here, also interests me – his course and distance form has worked out quite well.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"September 1, 2022 at 15:24 #1613015Post Impressionist 16/1 looks fair to me, even if his stable mate is favourite.
Different ownership and will no doubt be having a go.

He’s the type of horse that needs plenty to go right
He will need them to go a strong gallop and will need a clear passage

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"September 2, 2022 at 23:58 #1613128I whittled it down to about 5 that I liked for this but that’s too many so I’ll stick some funmoney on one of them, that being Mick Channon’s Jacovec Cavern[/b}. Tidy performance stepped up to 12f last time, can improve for another 2, will need to improve but priced accordingly around 14/1. George Bass has ridden him 5 out of his 6 runs and that affinity could be a big factor. Maybe yes, maybe no, just needed to have a go.
