“I’m in a minority here, but I honestly hope he gets stuffed. I’m just fed up of Coolmore and their incessant marketing hype.”

I’ll join you with the tall poppy strimmer. The exercise riders of the whole string wearing City of Troy jackets had me making childish fingers down throat boke gestures. If I was the work rider for Lake Victoria or Henri Matisse I think I’d be taking a permanent marker and making a few alterations- their horses have earned the right.

Must admit the spin afterwards will be intolerable if he wins or loses.

However, City Of Troy is still “the best horse in Europe” albeit only by a pound or two at most.
Hope City Of Troy wins for City Of Troy, not for the hype / connections.

The spin will be far worse if he does win – the sycophants will be intolerable in trying to convince us that he better than he actually is.

All a victory here would show is that he’s flexible in terms of surface.

So is Rebel’s Romance, but nobody is saying that he’s the greatest ever.

When will European trainers ever learn? You simply cannot turn up and expect to win on dirt without having run on it before. It is sheer arrogance. The horse was beaten as soon as the stalls opened and palpably did not act on the surface.

CAS, the arrogance was shown after that Southwell workout. With that form he wouldn’t even win an AW handicap. How come people got tricked into backing him down to 7/4 or 2/1?

Yeah it’s like one of theirs coming over and trying to win the Arc on their first start on grass.

Nathan’s contribution in the meme thread has it…as Corporal Jones might say about kickback- they don’t like it up ’em.

I didn’t understand the Southwell workout. How is running on tapeta any sort of preparation for running on dirt?

On RTV earlier this week, Rachel Candelora mentioned that Justify has a very poor record with his runners on dirt. All his best performers are Turf horses.

And his connections win with their other horse…

Yes – and there is no way the bookmakers would price it up at 7/4.

Ballydoyle have made absolute clowns of themselves again. When are they going to understand, you need to be trained on dirt to win a Classic unless you’re an absolute freak which COT certainly isn’t.

Sierra Leone came from behind him and made COT look like a low grade handicapper. It was a joke.

Honestly, I don’t understand the fascination with winning the race anyway. Do we ever see the top USA dirt horses trying to win an Arc de Triomphe? Not a chance.

Aidan, interviewed by Nick Luck just now, is taking the blame for not preparing the horse properly.

It’s his job to take the flak, but any blame (and I don’t believe that any needs to be apportioned) lies with the owners for their pie-in-the-sky thinking.

After saying all month that ”no stone has been left unturned”, O’Brien now saying he didn’t prepare him properly. These guys never lose a race fair and square, there’s always an excuse.

Aidan not gonna dump those City of Troy jackets off at a chazza shop on Del Mar high street before he flies home then?

He should donate them to all the COT fanboys on TRF.
