Should be one to saviour.
I would think racing at this track would suit My Tent or Yours better then the The New One and I would have too worry about MTOY’s festival aspirations if he goes down here although having said that Nicky will be priming the horse for March. In what could turn out a match between the two the 6/5 match bet with Stan James for MTOY looks the better option.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
December 17, 2013 at 00:21 #462005Be great if Mullins entered Un De Sceaux here, although it’s probably likely he’ll try find something easier first time out, understandably. Annie Power might not have the speed around Kempton to beat these two but at the same time she’d want to be on their heels if she’s going to win a Champion Hurdle. I think she could be capable of this so hoping she gets an entry.

How likely is it that they both run? Going to get stuck into TNO

December 17, 2013 at 14:26 #462028Un De Sceaux entered at Thurles on Sunday, a quick Google and I found this, so looks like Thurles is the plan.

I hope one of the two does’nt turn up for it. Can just imagine I’ll have lumped on The New One major style on Boxing Day.
Imagine them crawling around a flat track like Kempton, a 3 furlong sprint for home develops between the two, but The New One has’nt had the stamina test he appreciates and McCoy is still sitting motionless on Your Tent Or Mine.
Sam just can’t get McCoy’s horse under any pressure. McCoy makes his move half a furlong from home and goes past The New One who’s all out, on the bridle.
Anyone who disagrees look at his ride on Mr Mole to beat Vukovar, I had counted my money, so sick about it still, but I put his defeat down to the ground not being soft enough and needing an extra half mile.
December 23, 2013 at 22:13 #462809Its still game on for the clash of the season,
My Tent or Yours
versus
The New One
.11/10 the pair seems fair although I did see 5/1 the pair only last week with Stan James and couldn’t get my head round that one!
Every drop of rain that falls only dampens this fascinating clash as neither thrive on Heavy ground, both will go through it but whatever the result it will mean nothing come Cheltenham time.Still a great clash of the seasons 2 best 2 mile hurdlers, lets hope they both turn up.December 23, 2013 at 22:16 #462810Gord the 5’s were for to win Kempton race and the champion. Even I got you a better ticket than that for your birthday.

Yes im drunk
Think the new one is better than mtoy, he’s much faster in the sprint and no matter how well mtoy may cruise up, when they get to 2f or 1f out tno will be sent for home and his acelleration will be too much for hendersons horse, cant se tno getting beat

I think this will be a crawl whos making the pace, no pacemaker even not one of the longshots. Deep ground crawl, have a look at the 2m4f race vs At Fishers Cross over Heavy in Cheltenham. The New one accelerates quite impressive of a slow crawl.Off a slow pace i favour The New One much more also on that ground.
What do yout think about Sametegal? Thought his last race was good class test and racing tommorrow on his ground optimum. Impressive sire stats here:
Heavy 50 17 34% 27 54% 37.98
Soft 52 6 12% 18 35% -16.15
Soft To Heavy 13 6 46% 9 69% 0.32December 26, 2013 at 00:18 #462934Great race in that punters really have to grow a pair and form an opinion.
It looks tricky, but perhaps after the race the Champion picture will look a lot clearer.
Bottom line is I fancy
The New One
to out battle MTOY if it comes down to that. However, I just think that horse is so versatile and his last run at Cheltenham was more impressive than MTOR. I think the New one will always find a way to win (best tactical pace). one of these horses is gonna look massive at evens!

December 26, 2013 at 14:49 #462993Exciting stuff. Many battles ahead for these two, I think there will is a fag paper between these two, certainly not the 7lb there currently is. 3rd horse miles back, two very good horses certainly.
December 26, 2013 at 15:49 #463007Much will be made of TNO’s jump at the last but that was when they were travelling at pace and when they quickened we saw MTOY’s jumping improve immensely as the early steady gallop he was slightly clumsily/awkward over all of them. The dream continues.

I’m certain that you weren’t alone in thinking that, Zip; certainly, when push came to shove approaching two out, I expected My Tent Or Yours to be outbattled by The New One. MTOY has certainly proved those of us who doubted his resolution and toughness wrong today, although I’m still not certain that he’d confirm the form with The New One at Cheltenham in March.
December 26, 2013 at 18:56 #463038Fair play to MTOY – he will always pull hard – even in the Champion, I suspect, though to a lesser degree.
Personally, I think The New One lost it with that jump at the last, MTOY was in trouble. I would definitely prefer The New one (with an aggressive ride) back at Chelters. The way MTOY folded against Champagne Fever is still fresh in the memory…

My Tent or Yours
is a 15kg heavier horse than he was in the ‘Supreme’ and he’s maturing mentally all the time.Granted proper Good Ground ‘MTOY’ will beat ‘TNO’ easier in March as he’s blessed with more speed than any horse Henderson has trained.Take that to the bank Zip!
December 26, 2013 at 19:26 #463042Well, the first two parts of my prediction for the season have come true, but I am not confident of the third.
My Tent Or Yours wins the Fighting Fifth and Christmas Hurdle, now all hands on the lay button for Cheltenham! Or at least, that was the plan. I have always been dubious of MTOY’s attitude and took the view that he finds nothing off the bridle.
Today, The New One outpaced him before MTOY stayed-on and dug deep to get him back. There was even time for MTOY to curl up as usual once he struck the front and The New One began to regain his balance, but MTOY actually stuck his neck out. That was something new that I don’t think I have seen from him before. Maybe it was mental and physical immaturity that got him beat in the past.
It might be time to reconsider.
