    Hi Guys, after some info…

Mrs is going to Chester Ladies day in May. Neither she nor I have been there and I am wondering which enclosure would be best for 3 or 4 women with no real interest in the racing (they will have a bet I imagine) but who are also not total pissheads looking to get wasted and fall down in there nice finery! The Dee Enclosure is priced like its for the boozers only whereas the Tattersalls and Paddock seems more for the racing enthusiats!

Basically, what facilities do each enclosure have…food, toilets, bars, view of the horses and racing? And is it worth paying that little bit extra to escape the Dee Enclosure and go to the Tattersalls?

    Cheers!

The place is full of pi$$heads most meetings and I have to admit I hate the place with a vengeance – my advice is if you want a good time stay at home!!!

    Hi Douginho,
Your Mrs will be hard pushed to escape the pissheads whichever enclosure she goes into. Chester just attracts them and it’s a great place for lads on the pull. The Members enclosure (especially at the May meeting) will be pricey (you’d need to book in advance) and, where once you had the best view of a race almost anywhere in the country, now it’s obliterated by sponsors’ tents, electronic screens etc. Tatts though will give access to the paddock and the inside of the course around the paddock area is full of an excellent variety of food and drink outlets from high-class (and pricey) to bog-standard (and pricey).
If you (they)want a really good day-out on the track (but expensive and may already be fully booked), try and get her and her mates to reserve a table at the racecourse’s 1564 restaurant. It overlooks Tatts and the bettting ring and you get a good view of the racing + the food is top-hole. There’s Tote betting staff that come around each table. There are lavatories in each enclosure.
Good luck. Hope she has a nice time. The 1564 is dear, but great food and drink, good viewing, you can get across into the Paddock and you’re unlikely to have any drunken wenches throwing up all over the place.

I live near Chester and have been there many times, I would recommend either the Tatts or County stands, I disagree that they attract the drunks as these two enclosures are more for the middle classes…just stay away from the open course and Dee stand as these are full of the more rowdy racegoers.

I recommend the Living Room in the city centre if your mrs prefers finer dining
