Have just arrived at Cheltenham – if racing goes ahead I will believe in miracles.
Still -2 and course looks solid
Looking at the temp/dewpoint spread (11:14am) from a nearby weather station at Bishops Cleeve, I’d say there isn’t a hope of the ground thawing going by the "solid" description Paul O has just reported.
All weather racing to the rescue again
Unofficially word is racing is on – however some trainers and jockeys are not happy and are with the stewards now
Again looking at the temp/dewpoint trends, if those solid sections are on the racing line they’ll be running over frozen ground.

CrizzyI haven’t a clue what is going on here – I certainly wouldn’t risk a horse in these conditions.
It will be interesting to see how many non-runners come through in the next hour or so.
I hope they have made the right call.
As I said in my last post there is stunned disbelief here in the Press Room.
The decision makers would have taken all the odds on the machine for it to go ahead. Someone ought to call Barney Curly and Panorama. On a more serious note, could the bookmakers have had a say in the decision, given the disbelief ?
