Is anyone going to be doing the Cheltenham Comp? I know we enjoy the comps in our house (Battle Of The Cakes) and if people are still interested I will willingly do the scoring and updates every night but if we have stopped doing them then that’s is okay but I am offering and throwing my hat into the ring so to speak :good: :good:

I started a thread for a TTTF Cheltenham Competition Raymo, it’s not a
patch on your usual Cheltenham Competition. I know you’ve had a bad year,
to be honest mine isn’t exactly peachy, I didn’t know if I was up to it.
Just about exhausted myself answering that eejit GT in the lounge. Thankfully
    no more.

I’ll pitch in with you if you feel up to it, or if not I’ll give it a run.
God help them if I do

    OK here we go

The competition will run from 15th until 18th March

    RULES

You select 1 horse in each race over the course of the meeting
In one race per day you can select 2 horses
You may chose 1 nap per day (please make clear)
NAP selections score double for WIN ONLY
You can pick a next best (NB) as a reserve for your Nap in case of being a non runner
If Nap is a N/R and your NB is a non runner the reserve of your Nap will become the Nap. (no reserve no nap)
Entries have to be in before first race of each day, if for whatever reason you are late post your entries still for later races which will be accepted but you will get hit with 20% point deduction for that day
Strictly no Edits after the off time of 1st race, all points on that day will be deducted

Was wondering about this and the others of similar nature, got my hands full at the moment with Saturday handicaps and the Pricewise festival challenge. Personally I’d like Nathan’s Power Play myself but it’s up to the persons organising it to call the shots, and I respect that.

Rummy, I copied the rules from last year’s competition. I can’t quite remember,
what was the Power Play, it must have been earlier ?

    Thanks BigG
I’ll pick them up again in the future just not having much motivation at the moment
Next week will be tough is my favourite of the year, my brother would come around and we would drink and gamble far too much. Happy days

I used the powerplay in events like the breeders cup which have less days and races so that more points could be gained in theory. For a competition of this size I wouldn’t recommended it for work load purposes

    Graham you are a STAR⭐
I know how time consuming these competitions are but also how much fun we all have taking part.

However, I think you should have at least one day to put your feet up and enjoy the racing without the worry of having to tot up the scores so would like to volunteer myself for Wednesday duty if that is ok I’ll do the scores and update the Leaderboard that night.

Nathan you enjoy the meeting and raise a glass to your brother. :rose:

Thanks also to Raymo and Mrs Raymo for being on standby for Graham.
It’s been a tough year for all of us. Best of luck.. Jac
