Thanks Guys. Pleased with that. He has a chance….. fingers crossed. How many times have we all been in this situation though. Hopefully they’ll find the easiest race possible now.

Some goods selections and prices there Mike. I particularly like the odds you’ve secured on Angels Breath, Lalor, Ballyward, Laurina, Topofthegame and Battleoverdoyen.

Obviously the 8-1 on Presenting Percy is wasted what with Might Bite up against him but you never know.

A rock solid book of selections and you should get plenty of great runs and a few winners for your money. Love the Ballyward price.

    All bets EW except Sharjah

    Champion Hurdle
Sharjah 50-1 win only (wish I’d done EW way, but he was my first bet back in the summer and I didn’t want to start throwing a load of EW antepost money on horses back then)
Melon 8-1 (pretty much written this off now; can’t see him back to form by then)

    Stayers Bapaume 50-1
    QMCC Min 8-1
    Ryanair Coney Island 33s + 40s

    Gold Cup
    Bellshill 20-1
    Invitation Only 100-1

    Triumph Coeur Sublime 20-1
    Mares Novice Sancta Simona 14-1

Arkle Slate House 50-1 (jumped abysmally on chase starts so far; will be surprised if he runs)

    JLT
    Hardline 16-1
    Robin des Foret 40-1

    RSA Drovers Lane 33-1

    Lost bets
Robin des Foret 40-1 in 4 mile NH chase

If anyone is interested, Skybet have some horses priced up as bigger ‘to win any race’ than to win an individual race. Notably, Tiger Roll (9/4 v 2/1) and Sir Erec (15/8 v 6/4)

Seen some spectacular performances today and I’ve been thinking about adding some more selections to my exchanges book but then I just sat back and thought hang on… is it possible that we could be getting carried away with some of today’s performances? How many horses have had preparations affected due to the flu issues? Has that affected their preps for today’s races? How many horses have had a flu jab in the last week or 2 and then ran poorly today? We’ve already been told Paul Nichols has all his horses jabbed in December and is it coincidence that he has 6 winners today and some very impressive winners? For me I think that tells me that todays winning performances could be overrated

It’s relatively common for Paul Nicholls to have a lot of winners on a Saturday.

6 is a lot even for him but he had 22 runners which is much higher than the number of runners he normally has.

3 of the 6 winners were odds on, 2 were.2nd favourites and a nice surprise with a 25/1.

Although the channel 4 ‘experts’ ;-) tried to make out it was due to the flu jabs alice was in fact most likely talking gibberish and dont forget 16 out of the 22 got beat.

As if Paul Nicholls is the only trainer to do it like that, almost all of the top ones follow the same route.

I doubt any other trainer had as many losers as paul Nicholls did today.
