Softly, softly, catchey monkey…
Arsenal at 33/1 is rude, as is Portugal at 33/1 for the World Cup and they make a cute little 1155/1 double.
Chuck in Tidal Bay at 25s and you have a gorgeous 30055/1 treble and a super-sexy little Trixie…
A couple of peanuts could yield a mighty big tree.
January 30, 2014 at 01:39 #466499From what I’ve seen this season, Milan should struggle home and away against Madrid.
Agreed, Milan doesn’t have much of a chance IMO.
January 30, 2014 at 12:51 #466515A.Madrid are clearly on par with Barca and Real Madrid this season and the only thing A.Madrid lack compared to their rivals is celebrity status. If you play for Real Madrid or Barcelona you’re instantly a household name all over the planet; Bale, Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar and etc are massive celebrities and great footballers but Villa, Costa, Koke, Turan, Gabi, Garcia are all world class players in their own right… forget Neuer this Courtois is the best keeper in the world. Munich are the ones to beat but don’t write off a Diego Simone side that’s unbeaten in CL football this term and have won three European trophies in four years.
January 30, 2014 at 12:55 #466517Correction – Four European trophies in four years.
February 13, 2014 at 16:22 #467941Atletico have looked very tired and have a stretched squad due to injures and fighting in every competition. Simeone playing Garcia as a lone striker highlights their problems. They have (when fit) a starting eleven to rival the best in Europe but their squad isn’t as strong as say Munich. Should still progress to quarters but I feel it’s a year too soon for a team definitely on the rise in Europe.
February 13, 2014 at 17:29 #467942I still think Milan will win.
Underestimate a team with Super Mario in at your own peril!
February 15, 2014 at 02:39 #468067He scored a quality goal today.

That was a great goal, however look at how much room he was in when he recieved the ball, there were 3 guys playing at center back and only 1 guy for them to mark, god knows why the guy who was closest to Mario was so far from him at the start. Then when he finally realises he actually has to mark someone when playing in defense he does the most pathetic attempt at a block I’ve ever seen, turning his back to the shot and even looks like he’s trying to avoid it before he even gets to within 3 meters of Mario!!
Not taking anything away from the strike though, it was absolutely beautiful, just saying a good defense would never have allowed him to score that, especially so late in the game.
February 18, 2014 at 11:20 #468409I’ll start this posy by saying City are a very good team, but the 7/4 available with Betfred for Barca to win tonight is HUGE in my opinion.
I don’t buy into all ‘this Barcelona team is the worst in years’ coming from Mourinho. They may no longer be the best in Europe but they are still a very, very good side who happen to have the best player in the world in their team.
City’s home form is good but they’ll miss Aguero and they don’t look as unbeatable as they did a few weeks ago. They were lucky at home to Liverpool, they then stuggled to beat Palace and were eventually beaten by Chelsea. If that Chelsea side can beat City the Barcelona side turning up tonight also can.
I’ve backed them in a treble with PSG (6/5) and Derby (also 6/5).

Totally agree 7/4 seems massive,Messi’s starting to get back to his very best and as you say Aguero’s a big miss for City. I don’t get how people are writing off Barca at all, their defence is still not the best but their Midfield and Forwards are as good as any out there and Toure will need to have 1 of the best games of his life for City to get close to breaking even around the middle.

7/4 Barca tonight is good but so is the 2/1 on City in my opinion.
I don’t think you can say Barca can win just because Chelsea did, they are two very different sides and Chelsea had the sort of defense and gameplan to win away from home. Chelsea have a very strong and solid back 4 (and don’t forget the two defensive mid’s they use in Luiz and Matic) and basically out-muscled and bullied (especially Ivanovic who had an incredible game) Man City when they were coming forward. I don’t think Barca will be able to do this.
I do agree about Aguero though, think he’s a real big loss, though their tactic which has bagged them so many goals this year – attack, pass the ball inside to suck the defense in, then quick pass out to someone like Zabaleta and get the defenders looking out wide before he does a quick whip deep into the box where a striker’s there waiting to poke it in behind the last man – will still work perfectly with the likes of Dzeko and Negredo on the pitch.
Toure could have a huge game too.
All in all hope it’s a great game, either going to play City straight or put them in a few accumulators.
Kinda like the 4/6 lay on Betfair on Barca actually!
February 19, 2014 at 00:04 #468448Missed the game just watched the highlights and pretty impressed with City playing with ten men, I expected Barca to have 70% possession and score 3/4 goals but City done well to only conceaded 2.

How wrong I was!
February 19, 2014 at 08:47 #468456Get your money back on Bayern, Ben.

First Football Acca i’ve had come in, in a while! Paid just over 12/1!

Thought Barca were a bit lucky as good as they were prior to the sending off their was little end product, they seem to try to score the perfect goal. I remember thinking the same when they played Utd a few years ago. Poor decision to play Demechellis who was the clear weak link.
February 19, 2014 at 10:04 #468464If i was a City fan i’d be very dsappointed with that performance, most of their players seemed in awe of their opponents. Kompany tried and tried to get everyone going but only so much he could do.
Bayern could make the premiership look even worse this evening and in the other game i am going to go against the grain a bit and fancy Milan to get a draw at least, they’re finding a bit of form whereas Atletico have been a bit off the boil recently other than their 3-0 win the other evening, and i’d say they’d be happy enough with a draw anyway. Wonder what the double off Bayern win and Milan +1 will pay
February 19, 2014 at 13:33 #468474Like Barca last night, Arsenal are a stupidly BIG price today at 4/1.
I’m normally no lover of Arsenal and on the face of it they are arguably up against the best side in Europe possibly the World. THe first 10-15 mins will be crucially, having watched the two games against Liverpool they were 4-0 down after 20 mins in one and could have been 2 or 3 down in the other. If they ride out the early storm I think they can go on to win the game.
Their at home which is a positive, Ribery and Shaqiri are both out for Bayern they will miss both of them and another thing to take into consideration is Arsenal have a trio of German players in Mertesacker, Podolski and Ozil who will be wanting to put in a performance. Added to that Wilshere is set to return and Giroud had a bit of a rest at the weekend to so should be relatively fresh.
I’d rather be on Arsenal at 4/1 or even the draw at 3/1 than Bayern at 8/11.
Milan are also to big at 5/2 I’m expecting a stellar performance from Balotelli tonight and can see them going into the second leg with an advantage.
I’m backing High flying Leicester away to Forest at 13/8, the treble pays 45/1 fill your boots!
