I hope she doesn’t for my ante post bet but it seemed logical if they do plan on entering mogul

Mogul isn’t a soft ground horse I don’t think, so to me it makes sense for Magical to be given the opportunity to defend her crown here.

AOB Quote: “Nothing is confirmed but at the moment we’re thinking Magical in the Champion Stakes, and also Japan and Serpentine. Passion is in the Filly & Mare.”

“O’Brien said: “Japan is a strong possible and this has been the target for Magical since Leopardstown. Mogul is not a definite because he could go straight to the Breeders’ Cup Turf”

Love Magical’s chances here, already on Antepost, but one horse that is being overlooked to run well again is Addeybb. His form on Soft over 10F reads 341212111.He never runs a bad race on it. I can easily see the same result as last year and it’s paying just short of 20/1

Magical – Addeybb Straight Forecast 20/1

I really like addeybb too been a fan for ages

Il wait to see what the going report says on Saturday morning then maybe consider adding him to my magical antepost

It was soft heavy in places this morning but with drying weather all day today tomorrow and Saturday its only going to improve

Especially with how well Ascot drains

I am on magical as well but if the going was heavy I would have a saver on the french horse Skalleti. We all know magical will handle the ground and she is as tough as hell and after Enable she is the second best filly in racing in the UK and Ireland, now Enable has retired she has to be the best filly now. You have to respect the Gosden horses.

I can see lord north finishing ahead of mishriff tbh

Il probably look stupid on Saturday but can’t have that french form

I’ll be very very disappointed if Magical can’t win this. SHe’s even got Serpentine to toe her in. Don’t rate Mishriff either or Lord North. Skalleti looked really good last time out but that may have been because he was running against average horses. Wouldn’t put anyone off him though.

It’s a great lineup this year, fascinated to see how Pyledriver and a few others get on.

Apparently The course is still full of water from 2 weeks ago FF. Chris Stickels doesn’t think it’s going to dry up at all by Saturday. Might be soft all over perhaps. Should be soft enough for Addeybb

Skalleti took the lesser odds 9/1 skybet with the four places.

I’m not a favourite backer as a rule, but I can’t let the 2/1 with William Hill
for Magical go untouched. I’ve tried to get one to beat her, but I think she is just
too good. I reckon she will go off nearer evens.

This is a much stronger race than the one Magical won last year, I think I remember saying at the time her and Deirdre were the only G1 winners in the field when the race was run, it was shockingly bad for a Champions Stakes. She’s obviously a very good mare and a very consistent one at that but she wasn’t beating Ghaiyyath at the top of his game in Ireland and the very narrow margin she finished in front of Lord North at York is an accurate representation of the gap in their ability at this stage but she is by far the more exposed of the two, he’s also returning to a track he thrives at and he’s been kept fresh since York. I think he turns the tables here and looks a great bet at the prices.
