Mishriff is a gorgeous, talented horse and it would be great to see the big beast Adayar stretch out his massive stride to win, but I’ve gone with old reliable Addeybb for the win, and also sucked in by the big ew on MacSwiney with the ease in the ground.
October 16, 2021 at 15:48 #1563636I’ve backed Mishriff with (horses for courses) an ew bet on Addeybb.
Value Is EverythingOctober 16, 2021 at 15:53 #1563637Oh dear, silly jockeys going too fast too soon.
Value Is EverythingOctober 16, 2021 at 15:54 #1563638Well done Buckers and Grass, great call
October 16, 2021 at 15:54 #1563640Mac swiney looked pretty unlucky there, was just getting going when squeezed out
Mishriff didnt go a yard just like last year, Egan was niggling him after 3 furlongs
October 16, 2021 at 15:55 #1563642Well done the e.w mcsweeny players , strange race and Adayar again doesn’t get home
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
October 16, 2021 at 15:57 #1563643Thanks, well done Greenasgrass too

I thought so too but it did not look quite as bad on the head on. I napped him in the Saturday tipping competition and was starting to get excited!
October 16, 2021 at 16:08 #1563654I meant to say this pre race
But mishriff and addeyyb are rated 127 and 125
Thats gotta be wrong hasnt it?
At least 5lbs too high
Cracksman was 130 and enable 128 they both wouldve eaten them for breakfast
October 16, 2021 at 16:11 #1563657When Buick came alongside Addeybb – off what was already a good pace – Marquand should’ve let Adayar go on instead of fighting for the lead. This should have been in Mishriff’s favour, but when seeing Buick go on Egan panicked and decided to make ground up when pace seemed to be at its fastest… From that point Sealiway and Dubai Honour always going to catch them.
Well done winners, but wouldn’t take much notice of the form.
Value Is EverythingOctober 16, 2021 at 16:24 #1563663Nice one Buckers and green and CAS bad luck with your Nap..

Must say Buick look pretty disappointed when he came back Ginge and Frankie already called out a young jockey who pushed him wide on Stradivarius in the first although his ride on Palace Pier was dismal with all that looking behind.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 16, 2021 at 17:08 #1563683Frankie has always been a confidence jockey, Jac. One thing going badly often leads to another. He saw the pace wasn’t strong and wanted to get closer on Stradivarius before the pace increased. However, unfortunately the “young jockey” saw him coming and (from what I saw fairly) took the spot Frankie was after… Leaving a choice of either going very (too) wide or reigning back…
Then may be Frankie waited too much on Palace Pier, watching too long where his main rival was instead of getting his own momentum… I can see Gosden’s point but personally not fully convinced.
I think after that Gosden was anxious Egan should be aware that on paper there wasn’t much pace in the race, emphasising the point talking to Egan in the paddock… Therefore when Adayar went on Egan thought he had to make ground… Which – considering the pace in fact already being a good one – was totally the wrong thing to do.

Enable would effectively be 131 against any of them with her allowance and unless she met Cracksman at Ascot in the slop in October over 10F she’d eat him alive, he’s one the most overrated horses in my lifetime imo. Mishriff on his day would beat Cracksman over 10F on anything quicker than soft I think. Agree with the original point otherwise, the BHA have a balancing act in trying to protect the integrity of their races, particularly the Group 1’s whilst at the same time giving out realistic performance ratings in those races. Mishriff seems to have fallen foul of the BHA wanting to cling onto the Juddmonte International being declared the best race in the world last year by giving him a nice rating whilst ignoring the fact he beat a group of horses who were either not good enough or didn’t stay.
October 17, 2021 at 11:41 #1563758St Marks basilica clearly the best horse this season with the qe2 winner close behind IMHO. He stuffed mishriff out of sight in the eclipse and sustained an injury in the Irish champion otherwise would have won that comfortably. Getting fed up with folk saying this is a vintage year. Vintage in the sense that more big races are being shared around but that’s more to do with coolmores below average season. Big races won bu huge outsiders tells you it’s not vintage. Adayar, mishriff etc hyped like a coolmore horse and then they get duly stuffed. It has in many ways been a good season with Jim bolger Andrew balding etc. I’d say it will go down as a good not vintage season.
October 17, 2021 at 16:46 #1563811You can pick holes in most of st marks form too
It appears they are much of a muchness
No great horses this year unfortunately
October 18, 2021 at 14:16 #1563888A bit of a disappointing race as the two big guns for whatever reason didn’t turn up.
