I think Hendo is worried about Sir Gino’s damaged suspensory ligament being under greater strain first time out over fences.
Even then, with Jonbon switching to the Ryanair, will he want his future star coming up against Il Etait Temps on his second run of the season ?
December 10, 2025 at 18:37 #1747172Anyone thinking about backing William Munny may want to hold off for now
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
December 10, 2025 at 19:10 #1747176Anyone who was thinking of backing William Munny needed their head read in the first place.
He’s almost as slow as The New Lion.
December 10, 2025 at 19:20 #1747177Better slow than rolling on the ground ….
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
December 11, 2025 at 10:13 #1747218Don’t think either is of much use, come to think of it. 🤷♂️
December 11, 2025 at 20:08 #1747270We,ve still to see what the lion can do , it’s likely the Hill is off to retirement
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
December 26, 2025 at 14:03 #1748506Sir Gino 2-1
December 26, 2025 at 16:54 #1748591Surprised it wasn’t boosted to 5/2. With a cash out option.
December 26, 2025 at 17:45 #1748598Sir gino wont be winning this anyway, hes a chaser now, hes lucky state man is in the same ownership/injured as he’d bury him
Hes a cert in the CC though, be stunned if he doesnt go that route
December 26, 2025 at 17:52 #1748599Sir Gino jumped more like a chaser and had nothing to beat today. He’ll come on a lot for the race and what else is left in the CH?
It would make no sense to go with Constitution Hill instead, which won’t happen anyway. The CC is a much tougher race to win, but connections will have the final word. Let’s hope Sir Gino stays healthy.
December 26, 2025 at 18:37 #1748605Everything about Sir Gino still screamed Champion Chaser today. I’ve never thought he had great respect for hurdles as he does smack one occasionally.
He has insane ability though and is the most likely winner of the Champion Hurdle. If he can put a good round of jumping in, he should be too quick for Lossiemouth and The New Lion.
Nicky seemed indecisive post race today but I’m 100% sure he’ll run in the Champion Hurdle and if Lulamba wins the Arkle, we may never see Sir Gino over a fence again which would be a real shame.
December 26, 2025 at 19:00 #1748607Making square pegs fit round holes normally ends in disaster
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
December 26, 2025 at 21:42 #1748621I’m not sure about him beating nothing today. Golden Ace probably hasnt run to her very best today but not far off it. She was the flag bearer of the division of those who are fit and that was very easy. Lossie hasn’t beaten anything of note over 2m and the best boy shes beaten on merit in her career is a 3 miler.
December 27, 2025 at 05:42 #1748640Threads like this make me laugh. The mental gymnastics people go through to try to find holes in an unbeaten machine, as they’re in denial that they have wasted their tenners on palpably inferior horses, is hilarious.
Barring mishaps, Sir Gino will destroy Lossiemouth, The New Lion, etc, in the Champion Hurdle.
December 27, 2025 at 05:54 #1748641Agree Glad. The horse has just destroyed last season’s champion (which had race fitness) and some people are looking to pick holes in him!
I take the point he is not a slick hurdler but I don’t think it matters, at least this season with the potential field looking light on quality. In terms of ability he is miles ahead of everything else in the Champion Hurdle betting.
The point about where he stacks up with State Man is irrelevant. That horse is out for the season.
The New Lion will not get anywhere near Sir Gino.
Lossiemouth would at least have the 7lb allowance on her side but I wouldn’t be surprised if Mullins opts for the penalty kick in the Mares Hurdle instead after he watches what Sir Gino did yesterday.
December 27, 2025 at 08:13 #1748649I wouldn’t be at all sure they’ll go chasing with Sir Gino, at least not this season. And why would you? He looks to have the Champion Hurdle at his mercy.
December 27, 2025 at 08:33 #1748651There is no way Henderson is going to run him in the Champion Chase. He would only have time for one more run, which would mean taking on experienced chasers after only two runs over fences. I cannot envisage Mr Ultra Cautious taking up that option.
