They had a go … Ricci didn’t ..or wasn’t allowed to … Fortune favours the brave
March 11, 2025 at 16:11 #1722713Bonkers 2025
March 11, 2025 at 16:13 #1722714Three rather pathetic races today: the Arkle, The Mares’ and the Champion Hurdle now. Somehow I’m pretty disappointed, though I like to take a chance sometimes, this outcome was impossible to predict.
March 11, 2025 at 16:14 #1722715£4432 tricast …. Anyone get it in … Don’t be shy …
March 11, 2025 at 16:14 #1722716Yesterday morning i said:
I fancied Golden Ace to sneak 3rd the other week; was 40s with 365 at the time; wish i’d placed a small wager now.
Doubt i’ll even bet in the race, now that it’s first 2 only.

I’m sat here a little bit
March 11, 2025 at 16:15 #1722717Scott standing there like he’s watching his kids play football … Ice cold
March 11, 2025 at 16:15 #1722718Bittersweet for me as I really wanted Constitution Hill to win but I was on Golden Ace w/o him at 20/1.
The more I thought about it, Brighterdaysahead reminded me of ”I like to move it” with his amazing one off performance at wincanton.
She was beaten fair and square by Golden Ace last year and shes just been beaten fair and square again. An unfit State Man almost had her in November also but for missing the last.I’m gutted for Constitution Hill and Nicky etc but I also feel really bad for State Man and connections as he was in the process of his greatest ever performance. The cheekpieces were a masterstroke.
Possibly the most shocking Champion Hurdle of all time.
March 11, 2025 at 16:16 #1722720I think there was somebody in here who was on Burdett Road ew but he’s probably gone off bigger today than he did when it was backed? I do enjoy the unpredictability of the sport but normally it indicates a bad renewal or some freak outcome. It won’t matter a jot to connections but she’ll almost certainly be the lowest rated Champion Hurdle winner in the history of the race
March 11, 2025 at 16:16 #1722721Should add, though, hats off to the owner and trainer
March 11, 2025 at 16:17 #1722722Means we ‘ll get to see the hill again though this season if he’s ok , Aintree or Punchestown though
March 11, 2025 at 16:17 #1722723To me Constitution Hill’s fall looked similar to his last race blunder but this time didn’t get away with it.
The more I know the less I understand.
March 11, 2025 at 16:17 #1722724The owner said the same as you I think Wilts. Didn’t have a penny on her as it was only 2 places. WD GM23
March 11, 2025 at 16:18 #1722725Moral of the story is that you have to be in it to win it and jumping is the name of the game.
CH has flirted with falling in the past and on the replay he was long at the hurdle but simply didn’t get anywhere near high enough to clear the hurdle and his front hoof actually landed halfway up the hurdle. Strangely I am more shocked that State Man fell than I am of CH if I am honest.
Fortune favours the bold so I am very happy for connections of the winner and was that a case of fate giving the middle finger to Lossiemouth’s connections for bottling it?
March 11, 2025 at 16:18 #1722726I had Burdett Road in the Cheltenham Competition on the basis he might sneak second if some of the others tried and failed, so got a good few points. Holding him up certainly did no harm and he ran a very good race even allowing for the two fallers.
March 11, 2025 at 16:18 #1722727Further illustrates the absurdity of planning a season around one race.
March 11, 2025 at 16:18 #1722728Will Elliott bring the mare back again , that’s 2 really poor runs here now
March 11, 2025 at 16:18 #1722729I am really shocked at the falls and then the performance of Stateman, didn’t think he had that in him (until the fall)
I backed her without constitution hill @19.00 this morning.
Also backed her in play, small stakes admittedly but it more than doubled my super boost on Constitution Hill.
