For a bit of fun and to see if anyone agrees with me
Name your first 3
I’m the bookie of the decade (you win you don’t get paid
) Everyone has an imaginitive 1000 pounds sterling and can bet any horse you want, Win EW (first 4 as it is very difficult) forcasts or tricastThe overall winner gets a free tip for the Gold Cup…..it’s Kauto Star

The prices have no reflection on my choices but are what I think the bookies might have offered.
I have chosen mines already and will let you know my selections (result) in a few days.
For my own interest I have added a poll to see what the majority would go for.

November 10, 2007 at 09:35 #123919I’ll take £14,000/£1,000 about Night Nurse, thank you.
November 10, 2007 at 10:08 #123925I’d be a layer of Kribensis at 5’s and a huge layer of Dawn Run at 11/2.
Night Nurse at 14/1 stands out.
November 10, 2007 at 10:13 #123928I’ll take the 100/1 about Brave Inca, at least he is still racing while all the others are way too old and will probably need the run

Seriously, being only 34 I didn’t see the likes of Sea Pigeon, Night Nurse, Bula etc so I would have to have a punt on Istabraq.
Mike
ps, where’s the dual Champion Hurdler of recent years (the name escapes me, I haven’t had my coffee yet
)November 10, 2007 at 10:29 #123930play play Night Nurse 14/1 – any left?
lay lay See You Then 4/1November 10, 2007 at 11:20 #123945See You Then should be around 20/1 in this field, whereas Night Nurse is ridiculously over-priced.
Two best Champion hurdlers I have seen were Night Nurse and Istabraq. It would be a close run thing between the two. I’d split the bet and have £600 @ 4/1 Istabraq and £ 400 @ 14/1 ( 14/1 ?
) on Night Nurse.Gambling Only Pays When You're Winning

)Being a nice bookie you got a grand on Istabraq at 2/1 without any winners pre 1980 if you want it

Maybe Hardy Eustace ? he’s there ok
November 10, 2007 at 11:49 #123954play play Night Nurse 14/1 – any left?
lay lay See You Then 4/1Can’t change the prices can’t change the result help yourself lol
November 10, 2007 at 12:03 #123959My apologies FOF,
Yes I meant Hardy Eustace and didn’t realise he was there. I’ve had my coffee now and I can see correctly

November 10, 2007 at 13:06 #123971No Flyingbolt in there?
Flyingbolt never won the Champion Hurdle
November 10, 2007 at 13:26 #123973No Flyingbolt in there?
Flyingbolt never won the Champion Hurdle
Though he did finish third at 15/8 behind Salmon Spray in the ’66 Champion Hurdle. The following day he hacked up in the two mile Champion chase.

November 10, 2007 at 14:04 #123978Any reason Sir Ken didn’t make it?
November 10, 2007 at 15:06 #123989I’ll have a £1000 to win on Night Nurse please
– not that I know anything about this horse but I nearly OD’d on the stuff one night many moons ago
November 10, 2007 at 19:23 #124035No Flyingbolt in there?
Agree that Dawn Run and Kribensis are massive lays, and Night Nurse is overpriced at 14s.
Neither Brave Inca or Rooster Booster deserve their places in the field either.
The owners insisted they ran
November 10, 2007 at 19:28 #124036Won the Supreme Novices though and rated only behind Arkle by some ratings compilers. I’d have had him in my field.
Why? As brilliant a chaser as he was he was kicked into touch by Salmon Spray, at level weights beaten, fair and square.
November 10, 2007 at 22:05 #124060Have to take the three from the golden era – Night Nurse, Monksfield and Sea Pigeon – Persian War best of the rest.
Just on the subject anybody remember seeing that Irish novice that bolted up at the Festival and then had to be put down in the Scottish Champion Hurdle – sorry can’t remember the name at present but was supposedly a world-beater.
November 11, 2007 at 08:47 #124136I believe you’re referring to Golden Cygnet.
