My bank balance could of been over 2k higher after backing UDS all year but that’s racing, things didn’t go his way for one reason or another.
Fantastic result for racing, Sprinter was perfectly turned out and the job Nicky Henderson has done is nothing short of a miracle. It was reminiscent of Kauto beating Long Run in the King George. I hold my hands up I didn’t think it possible for him to come back to championship standard but fair play to those that did including former member Fist who has been shouting from the roof tops about him on another forum.
I’ll post up some photos in a bit.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026

March 16, 2016 at 22:21 #1238190Classy post that Nath. I know how much a win for UDS would have meant to you. You are right though – it was a wonderful result for racing. A magnificent horse and a fantastic training performance.
"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"

March 16, 2016 at 22:37 #1238200Good post Nath, gutted for you mate as I know how harsh it can be when you’re so confident in a favourite who’s set to return you big money only to have your hopes dashed. Great photo’s though, especially love the two with Nico and Nicky smiling away together, it’s actually really warming to see Nicky with that grin on his face after seeing him look so bewildered over the last 12-24 months.
March 16, 2016 at 23:34 #1238225Just being there (and getting great photos) must be consolation in itself. UDS ran well enough and will have other days. Thanks for posting.
March 16, 2016 at 23:43 #1238229Wonderful photos Nathan. I didn’t see any of the races today, I was heading
down the 74 then M6 to get to my sis in law’s pitch in Wellesbourne beside
Stratford. Mrs Big G and her sis are going to have a girlie day on Friday
when I head to Cheltenham. I did listen to the race in the car on one of
the sports channels, I don’t know who the commentator was but hats off to
whoever he was, he was at fever pitch when Sprinter came through at the end,
I doubt my steering wheel will recover from being throttled.I had a bet on him before I left this morning, but I didn’t care, I was just so
delighted to hear the old boy do it. I’m sorry that your bet didn’t come off this
time Nath, but gracious off you too say it was a “fantastic result for racing”, in
the spirit of a proper horse enthusiast and not just a punter, hat’s off to you
too mate
