You’ll have an unforgettable day watching Vautour romp home in the Gold Cup
Yes, I just posted on the CHouse thread that I saw that Moore says he goes for the QM. Looking back at his quotes, he missed the festival last year as Moore said he wasn’t ready mentally and he’d rather wait as he thought him very special.
20s for the QM looks far too high to me: quite how they make the ageing SDG half that price on ground that almost certainly will not favour him, I don’t know
I agree Joe, think that 20/1 is still very good value. I had a good weekend
and last night Kevin Na being placed in the PGA tournament at 33/1 added to
my Paddy Power account. They were one of the few still offering the 20s so I
was able to have another very decent bet on him. I see they (PP) have now gone
14/1, not that it would have anything to do with me.Stan James and BetBright are the last firms to stand 20/1, I can see that going
soon, and if he bolts up in The Game Spirit I can see his price well in single
figures. He’s an exciting horse and it was good to hear that Gary Moore thought him “very
special”.I’d be more than happy with a place, I could go to Gold Cup day with my satchels
full, but I’d be ecstatic if by whatever means he manages to get his head in front.Lets just hope he can keep sound between now and then
January 31, 2016 at 15:28 #1231456Felix Yonger will get a place in this race.
His running style and drop out tactics will help him pick up the pieces when both Sprinter Sacre and SDG get broke chasing the winner Un De Sceaux. Sprinter travels but will have to travel at a high speed than ever before, it’s one thing being the best horse on the planet and travelling but he is going to have to come off the bridle to get past UDS and it will break him. Place lay the pair SS and SDGBlackbeard to conquer the World
February 8, 2016 at 14:21 #1232813Bye bye Traffic Fluide
February 8, 2016 at 14:34 #1232815Was just coming hear to write that in a slightly different way. Traffic Fluide out for season. Bad luck joe
February 8, 2016 at 17:26 #1232828Commiserations to Big G too – it was ‘his’ horse. We must be thankful for NRNB :)
February 8, 2016 at 18:32 #1232836I just heard the news, it’s a hard one to take, I thought he looked such a good horse and I was so looking forward to seeing him at the Festival, I know you were too Joe.
At least we get our money back for the Champion Chase, my money for the Ryanair is gone, but he almost certainly wasn’t going for that anyway.
With Bristol De Mai unlikely u go for the RSA and The Young Master not going for the National, my ante post book is thinning out a bit
February 8, 2016 at 19:04 #1232840I think UDS should and probably will win this but to chuck a couple of outsiders into the lix I would have to say the two that ran behind it in the Arkle last year Jossies Hill and Gods Own are overpriced and I hope Jossies runs at Kempton on Friday cos you don’t win at Cheltenham having fallen last time out!! And Gods Own is still in the same race at the moment. 33/1 both of them could be sporting bets for Cheltenham
February 8, 2016 at 19:19 #1232843In hindsight perhaps they should have gave Traffic Fluid an easier assignment first time out off the back of a problem.
Taking on UDS a horse that will break opposing horses probably wasn’t the brightest idea, maybe they thought UDS was passed it or something, I don’t know.Blackbeard to conquer the World
February 9, 2016 at 03:20 #1232875Shame about Traffic Fluide. Thought he was a good bet to finish 2nd behind UDS.
February 12, 2016 at 15:26 #1233329Does Jossies Hill come into the reckoning now after putting in what I consider to be his best round of jumping ever?
For a place maybe ….February 12, 2016 at 16:01 #1233331I must agree josses hills jumping today was fantastic! Very impressive. Just be careful Henderson has said he will more likely go to the RSA than champion chase. With half the Runners at the top of the market for the RSA likely to go for other races is think josses Hill will be well worth an each way bet for the RSA
February 12, 2016 at 16:02 #1233332Apologies for previous post josses hill is aimed at Ryanair not RSA
February 13, 2016 at 22:27 #1233561Being able to boss a small field is one thing but I can see Josses Hill hitting the deck in the QMCC if they go that route (not likely to be able to get anywhere near the front with UDS and Special Tiara in the line up) – he is not a natural chase imho and spends a little too much time in the air at his fences (a trait that will be ruthlessly exposed over 2m).
Personally, he would be better off in the Ryanair going a stride or two slower where he will have more time to be organised by his jockey at each of his fence – I fear that if the jockey leaves the horse alone to organise himself at the fences you will simply get a repeat of the Sandown fall.
February 15, 2016 at 09:43 #1233728A month to go so I will have to start the cheerleading very soon. I’ve got my blue and orange pretty Dress ready and my pom poms.
Go, go, go Un De sceaux…Blackbeard to conquer the World
February 24, 2016 at 23:50 #1235077Felix Yonger looks set to race here instead of Japan, so that’s the first and second sorted, just need to find the third for the tricast.

Not quite sure what you’re thinking is here? I personally think felix is slightly below top class and probably finish around 5th/6th. 2 horse race to me UDS and SS if he actually runs his race his year
February 25, 2016 at 09:27 #1235097It’s a little tongue in cheek
however the race could play to something coming from deep and I’m expecting them to drop Felix Yonger out the back and canter around minding his own buisness whereas Special Tiara and UDS set a blistering pace from the get go closely followed by Sprinter and SDG. Necks, throats and t-shirts will be getting cut as stamina kicks in and the first to crack will be Special Tiara who will back peddle quicker than those people on you’ve been framed off the treadmill, Sire De Grugy was fit and proper at Ascot and going etc in his favour and he buckled and will again leaving Sprinter on the bridle to serve it up to UDS. Granted Sprinter looks better than last year and his trainer is bullish and why not he’s done a great job in getting SS back to a high level but this is now 2016 and not 2012/13 and it would be fantastic if he does win but I see him cracking in the final furlong and by cruising at the high tempo to keep tabs on UDS will empty the engine and the jockey will know this and not fight to the line once beaten enabling Felix Yonger going around at his own pace to pick up the pieces and finish like a train past beaten horses.Blackbeard to conquer the World
