Didn’t like his head carriage myself
He threw that race away, head up in the air as soon as he hit the front
December 26, 2022 at 16:31 #1628302Some Greenness as well probably.
December 28, 2022 at 14:21 #1628599Cashed out Barry for now. No word on him at all was meant to have run November, so will wait for an entry.
December 29, 2022 at 14:33 #1628773I’m on this King of Kingsfield 10/1 for the Bumper but win only so need the horse to win today in the last at Leopardstown if he’s to have any shot really!
December 29, 2022 at 15:29 #1628782Yeah that King of Kingsfield was a proper mug bet by myself, no idea what I was thinking at the time lol
December 29, 2022 at 17:01 #1628799Anyone that thinks they’re on the winner in this is deluding themselves
We’ve not even seen an American mike level horse this year let alone a facile vega
December 29, 2022 at 17:11 #1628801“Anyone that thinks they’re on the winner in this is deluding themselves”
I could be. ;o)
Ferny Hollow took 3 starts to get his head in front in bumpers after a couple of second places, so still time.December 29, 2022 at 17:28 #1628808Aye I backed him e/w on the day at 14/1
Think il be doing something similar most likely this year as there hasn’t been a single horse that made me think iv just seen the champion bumper winner
December 30, 2022 at 01:01 #1628838Well as mad as some think, I reckon there’s a bit value to be had, at odds that
needn’t hurt the pocket.Lecky Watson (40/1) has run 3 times. Now 2nd 2nd 2nd doesn’t necessarily whet the
appetite, but got stuck in the pack in his 1st race with little room, but when he
got out with 2f to go he finished better than anything. Unfortunately the winner
had already made his way home and 2nd was all he could expect. It could well have
been different.Next time at Punchestown he won his race bravely, except that he didn’t. The mighty
Stewards took the view that he had edged left and bumped his rival (Cato Capone) in
the final 110 yards. Now I haven’t seen the head on, but I’ve watched that race at
least 20 times and I’m damned if I can see it. He was odds on and I’d imagine expected
to win being one of Willie’s.He was beaten yesterday (5/2), I’d say mugged, at Fairyhouse by Fascile Mode, a 16/1
shot. He travelled well behind what he I reckon he thought was the danger, Special
Cadeau, another Mullins decent sort who had already won his debut at Huntington, round
the home turn. What he couldn’t see was that Fascile Mode was throwing the kitchen sink
coming wide round and took it up in the final furlong. Too late to mount a real challange,
and Mullins wasn’t hard on the horse. I reckon Lecky Watson could easily have taken it
up with a couple of furlongs to go, but he was caught napping and I reckon Mr P Mullins
won’t be mounting the finishing camera shot above his fireplace. So there you have it, 3 2nds which possibly could have been 1st 1st 1st, (or at least 2 of
them) and you’d be looking at a Willie Mullins 8/1 shot. Will he win? I don’t know but hes got an engine and he’s got guts. 40/1? where’s the harm
in it.December 30, 2022 at 01:08 #1628839“Ferny Hollow took 3 starts to get his head in front in bumpers after a couple of second places, so still time.”
Mike, you’ve just cheered up everyone on this thread who has backed anything already.

-pissed Father DougalDecember 30, 2022 at 01:53 #1628841Well that’s very true green, but that would be an ecumenical matter
(as Ted would say ducking anything he didn’t understand)Oh I wish God had given Dermot Morgan a few more years on this earth,
even just to have a Christmas special. Father Jack could some it up
in a word….FECK!!!January 7, 2023 at 14:58 #1630055Another go at a Mullins hopeful for me :
Fancy Girl 33s ew. Watch her get walloped down the country later todayJanuary 7, 2023 at 20:28 #1630105Queens gamble is the one for me still. She’s due to run in the listed race at the raspberry Mullins has used for a few years now to tee up his bumper horses so it’s gonna be interesting to see what’s entered this year.
I’ll be having a few queens gamble related bets prior to the and really looking forward to see how this all plays out. I might even get myself along to the track that day.
January 20, 2023 at 00:53 #1631621Queens gamble going straight there now then it seems after market rasen frozen off.
Still nothing of any significance from willie or Gordon so far and Patrick Mullins said on ATR earlier that nothing from Willies has yet stuck its hand up as the flag bearer.
5yo mares have a reasonable record in the race and this thing went up the hill like a rocket last time out.
If she does the business I’ll be sitting pretty for the week no doubt!
January 20, 2023 at 15:20 #1631663Got to agree the irish horses haven’t been standout yet, and do look like they need to back up 1st time out wins at the DRF to really convince us.
Fact To File’s win over xmas received an RPR of 132, which seems massive on the face of it. However, Will Do 9.5ls back had some very healthy maiden hurdle form. So i can sort of see it.
Let’s see how he copes with the drop to 2m. On pedigree it should be ok..

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 20, 2023 at 15:45 #1631664I’ve kept Chapeau De Soleil 10-1 for now.
January 21, 2023 at 14:36 #1631803It’s for me very impressive performance there , not sure what he beat but he was in 2nd gear , not the bigger but won’t be surprised to see him here
