You need the read the analysis in fairness. He has given kilcruit the highest rating of any bumper horse this season. It’s a savage performance from kilcruit and the visual is a small bit misleading as they went well above average speed in the first mile of the race.
Chemical energy, a quality horse, trying to do the same thing kilcruit does, proves that kilcruits performance is excellent.
I’m hoping still for another point or so of a drift on sir gerhard, and then he becomes the best each way bet of the festival 👍
February 14, 2021 at 20:07 #1523081Yeah I’m not sure where you’ve got anyone saying kilcruit only won because the race fell apart from ham
And even more baffled that your making me out as some sort of Simon Rowlands disciple
I’m merely of the opinion that the winning distance/ease of victory was exagerrated due to the way the race was run and therefore his current price is no value
Yet your acting like iv said kilcruit is a camel and has no chance
February 14, 2021 at 23:38 #1523110Sectional timings are fact, it’s the interpretation that is the skill. They can’t be ‘nonsense’ when par timings are known, it’s simple logic of comparing efficient speed.
Perhaps the horse that finished second might be very good and that is why he finished second even though going far too hard the first mile? Nah, that would be madness to think of a horse that bolted up on his first two runs and is well bred.
Kilcruit may be a weapon but the sectionals of this race show that the inefficiency of the leaders helped him look one in this race.
February 15, 2021 at 23:43 #1523227Patrick says the race at leopardstown fell apart
Says the horses in front stopped
And to prove I’m not anti kilcruit I took the boosted 10/1 double with him and honeysuckle this morning
February 27, 2021 at 09:30 #1525569Glengouly runs today and could book his ticket. There are some interesting horses in it but NRNB comes into its own…if he’s beaten or even struggles to win having a hard race he probably won’t go, if he strolls up he could. The trainer has done well with Coastal Path horses and he looked quite good in his P2P (albeit it was probably won by decent jumping as much as engine capacity).
Glengouly 40s ew NRNB PP
March 12, 2021 at 15:53 #1529170Reading between the lines, he could be lining up to withdraw Sir Gerhard.
Suppose he won’t be under any real pressure to run him from Cheveley.
He adds: “Kilcruit put up a huge performance at the Dublin Racing Festival and I was very pleased. I was gobsmacked actually at how well he won on the day, and I’m hoping he can put in a similar kind of performance in at Cheltenham.”
Sir Gerhard, meanwhile, is a last minute addition to the team and although Mullins conceded that it would be tough for such a young horse to acclimatise to a change in routine so close to Cheltenham, he feels he has a very nice horse on his hands.
He said: “Sir Gerhard is a fine horse. His form looks very good and he looks like he could be anything, as he’s got all the qualities of a good horse. It’s going to be very tough changing stables so soon before the race, but we’ll see what we can do.”
March 12, 2021 at 17:38 #1529186“Reading between the lines, he could be lining up to withdraw Sir Gerhard.”
And yet it is Sir Gerhard who has been much the stronger of the pair in the market today.
March 12, 2021 at 20:20 #1529224Yeah, he is.
Who knows though.
Clearly news didn’t get out about Enurgemene before his withdrawal so maybe the market isn’t such a good indicator.
March 12, 2021 at 20:43 #1529228Il likely back a couple of Willie’s also rans on the day
Hopefully ramillies runs
March 12, 2021 at 20:52 #1529229@jonnylits, where even in that quote does it suggest he’ll be pulling Sir G from the race?

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!March 12, 2021 at 20:56 #1529230Yeah, kev, theres nothing about sectionals that are factual other than they may indicate something, in this case, they indicated a strongly run race, thats all.
For them to be actual facts you would need alot more than a generalisation of ground condition and a hublot.
Nothing wrong with being anti-kilcruit FF, i dont recall anyone tipping him from any previews/articles, sir gerhard is all the rage!
Hopefully everything turns up, that arkle/stayers news makes you sick, just from
The spectacle point of view. Unless your own the two favs of course lolMarch 12, 2021 at 20:57 #1529231@jackh1092
He doesn’t and that’s why I said reading between the lines. Wasn’t trying to cause any panic.
Suppose the bit is “It’s going to be very tough changing stables so soon before the race, but we’ll see what we can do.”March 12, 2021 at 20:58 #1529232Yeah jack? That was my thinking, if anything it confirmed it for me that he was absolutely turning up!
March 15, 2021 at 10:18 #1529583I was wrong with my reading between the lines

Super SixMarch 17, 2021 at 08:40 #1530190Ramilles ew 4 places for me. He went too fast for his own good last time and the trainer said “I can’t see a rib yet” a few weeks ago suggesting he is a chunky article who needs a bit of racing to get fit.
March 17, 2021 at 11:26 #1530243Gutted this isn’t on ITV. Would much rather watch this than the Grand Annual.
BUY THE SUN
