With the trainers’ title in his sights, Willie Mullins is planning to send over El Fabiolo. Among the opposition may well be his old foe, Jonbon.

    Should be a cracker.

As well as El Fabiolo, WPM has entered Gaelic Warrior. With Captain Guinness, Edwardstone and Jonbon also amongst the entries, this could be one of the best races of the season.

Garlic Bread doesn’t hold a Punchestown entry apparently and unlikely to get supplemented
Can’t see Willie running them both though

Appreciate It is one of my big fancies for Punchestown, but I’m very tempted by that 66’s EW here, especially with three places up for grabs. Not in the same league as the front two, but on his day, I reckon that’s a fair price. Can’t possibly bet him just now though, with that Punchestown entry, along with The Oaksey Chase, but I nearly buckled. I’ll definitely bet him though if he’s declared and is a backable price, but hopefully it’ll be Oaksey Chase for him

I would love to see Gaelic Warrior round Sandown, but I think the market speaks volumes here

I agree with Bobby about Appreciate It.
Just too big of a price to be missed. His last winning form is over 2m and roughly 14 months ago he was the 11/8 Fav against El Fabiolo.

Managed to dodge him here Ruby, but not in The Oaksey. Big fancy for Punchestown Champion Chase now, but the presence of Banbridge stopping me at moment

I’ve decided to have a bet in this though, with Editeur Du Gite. Abysmal in this last year, and also when last seen, but he can put it in now and then, and took the 40’s. Will definitely top up if I see bigger

    Editeur Du Gite 66’s EW

Race to watch only for me but will spit nails if Boothill leads them home.

The more I know the less I understand.

    I’ve backed Boothill RTB.
If the pace collapses he could pick up the pieces. :good:
Harry Fry in better form too.

I’m going to be tempted tomorrow as was my early Champion Chase pick.

I don’t think the outcome of the race is as straightforward as most people might think.
Both mentioned horses – Boothill and Editeur Du Gite – represent a bit of value at around 40/1 to 50/1 and I will have a bit of that EW.

But, the one I’m looking at is still Edwardstone at 11/1. The stable is in much better form right now and his Sandown form reads 1-1-2 from only three starts.

    Edwardstone 11s win

I agree Ruby, I don’t think that this will be as cut and dried as the market says

I feel bad for deserting Editeur Du Gite here, but his last run was a real worry for me, he was so disappointing

I always like an outlandish bet when I go to this meeting, so it’s Nube Negra for me. He really looks up against it, but I’ll take that 50-1 ew. He’ll be my biggest bet today, so if you see someone throwing the kids in the air at the winning post, that will be me :yahoo:

Although I’ve done the same two as ERL; it’s not that I think the front two in the market are that much worse than their odds suggest. I make it an 88% chance one of the two will win. Indeed, the prices have changed since my bets. If betting right now I believe the value is the favourite @ 4/5

    My 100% Book:
    Boothill 2.75% 33/1 backed @ an average of 65.
    Editeur 0.5% 200/1
    Edwardstone 7.75% 12/1 backed @ an average of 16.
    El Fabiolo 60% 4/6 saved @ 1.77
    Elixier 0.25% 400/1
    Jonbon 28% 5/2
    Nube Negra 0.75% 132/1

That was one of his better performances. Took the race by the scruff of the neck and ran ’em ragged :yahoo:

Hope Tizzards horse is ok , Jonbon has put El Fab in his place today , the questionable jumping of El Fab is going to be his achilles

Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
