Former AOB inmate Orderofthegarter won a race in Australia this morning which guaranteed a run here. Still available at a very big looking price considering he will be receiving 8.5KG from the better horses.

October 9, 2020 at 09:21 #1505403Port Guillaume ruled out of the Caulfield Cup……
October 9, 2020 at 10:56 #1505408Thanks for that Clints, fascinating race this now like. The last couple of weeks i thought AVD was a shoe in here but starting to think the Lloyd Williams mob might well of played a blinder here on the handicapping front.
How on earth Orderofthegarter got an initial Aussie mark of 93 is mad really. Second at Royal Ascot to Benbatl got him 110 then was then beaten 4L in the G1 Grand Prix De Paris before going MIA for two years.
A warm favourite in the morning for the Herbert Power where if winning would escape a penalty for this race but recieve one for the Melbourne Cup which should see him sneak into that as well.
A lot depends on what happens in the morning but if he were to win AVD would have to give him 16.5 Lbs next Saturday.
October 10, 2020 at 08:31 #1505562OOTG just got stuffed. Would not win getting 36.5 lbs from AVD nevermind 16 lbs.
In other news Winx reincarnated AKA Russian Camelot the 6/4 FAV for the Cox Plate got beat at long odds on earlier this morning.
Not a follower of them, but these Australian middle distance horses are like G3 horses in Europe this year, if that !
October 10, 2020 at 11:21 #1505580Judging by the ease with which addeybb beat them earlier in the year id agree gp 3 is probably generous
October 10, 2020 at 13:05 #1505598Write off all the Aussie horses at your peril.
October 14, 2020 at 08:31 #1506009October 14, 2020 at 08:43 #1506013Mi horse has a decent draw. Good.
October 14, 2020 at 09:02 #1506016Got to back AVD here as always! 21 looks bad, top weight looks bad, but it’s been done pretty much with Best Solution in 2018 from stall 15 and Mer De Grace was near top weight from 17 last year, so he can do it!
Come on AVD!
Anthony Van Dyck 4/1
October 16, 2020 at 23:14 #1506303It’s been quite a disappointing season for Buckhurst, but not out of the question he can improve for this trip.
It’s the trip that gives me biggest headache with Raheen House, but didn’t stop me going in with that huge price. Also went lower odds to six places.
Buckhurst 12’s
Raheen House 250’s EWOctober 17, 2020 at 07:29 #1506339Forgot there was a thread for this. I had Mirage Dancer and True Self – the latter had a good position but couldn’t go with them when the pace finally cranked up. AVD did brilliantly to get as close as he did.
October 17, 2020 at 10:20 #1506363I didnt have a play (prob would have backed VE to be fair haha!) but Avilius for Godolphin was desperately unlucky if you watch back.
He may not of had the gears but was stopped at a vital point.
October 18, 2020 at 17:56 #1506651A bit of technical blurb from Saturdays race regarding the Euro runners.
Prince Of Arran, ran fourth after running seven metres further than the winner and clocking the fastest last 400m of the race.
AVD ran 11 metres further than the winner while clocking the race-best sectionals from the 1600m to the 600m. Also gave 3.3 lbs more than the mares allowance.
