As flagged up by the permatanned one on ATR, this was a fairly blatant attempt to ensure this horse didn’t place. If the complete book is not thrown at jockey and trainer here the game will sink even deeper into the mire…
August 4, 2010 at 15:16 #310917It was totally disgraceful. Just ban the jockey, trainer, owner and horse for life from attending, let alone participating at, British racecourses.
August 4, 2010 at 15:20 #310920In my opinion that was the most remarkable ride I have seen on a racecourse since Flowing River on 1st February 1991.
I await developments.
August 4, 2010 at 15:22 #310922Agree with your concerns CarvillsHill. In my opinion there should certainly be action taken. It also appeared to involve a number of potentially dangerous manouveres
August 4, 2010 at 15:27 #310923Absolutely disgraceful. It was bad enough ‘losing’ lengths at the start, but to blatantly stop the horse from running in a straight line, hence deliberately stopping the horse from winning, was criminal in terms of ‘non-triers’.
It makes me absolutely sick to see this happen, but unfortunately, until an example is made of someone, then it will happeen time and time again.
August 4, 2010 at 15:30 #310926Going to have to have a look at this on atr now
August 4, 2010 at 15:33 #310928How many times did it switch….must have been close to 5 times in 2f
August 4, 2010 at 15:36 #310929In-running comments from ATR read;
held up and well behind, hanging left and right over 2f out, rapid headway and continually switched left and right entering final furlong, carried head high, finished strongly under hand riding, never able to challenge
Aboust as accurate as they could describe it without getting into trouble.

That was disgusting, I hope the horse hasn’t hurt his neck or throat.
Also, Geojemali is a horse that looks like he’s being primed for a gamble and I’m going to get on board when the moneys down, take a look at recent rides.
August 4, 2010 at 16:08 #310936Are you having that one, Glenn.
August 4, 2010 at 16:15 #310938The stewards’ are planning to announce their decision soon according to ATR. But we can allow Vigano to run first…
So we’re expecting life bans all round?!
August 4, 2010 at 16:45 #310945Is it due to run at Musselburgh on Friday? Given a true ride it could have won by over ten lengths going away. But then again, maybe it’s just one of those horses who stops to nothing once they’re in front so the jockey was trying to pip them on the line but slightly misjudged it.
KAugust 4, 2010 at 16:51 #310946I really hope you’re joking.
August 4, 2010 at 16:56 #310948Of course I am Carv.
Just watching the ATR replay again and did anyone notice how he was kept separate for ages behind the stalls from all the others circling in front of the stalls? What was the reason for that, I wonder? Does the horse get worked-up when he’s close to other horses?August 4, 2010 at 16:59 #310949Talk about double standards, I was said a certain horse’s connections were fiddling/bent and got a warning, yet this is allowed up on here
Cormack
Totally unfair.

This is probably allowed up because there’s an enquiry, which should result in serious penalties, it was noted on ATR, and if any of us are getting sued, so are Chapman, Brown, ATR etc.
