Like recent lightly-raced winners here.
Probably more to follow.March 12, 2008 at 10:05 #150098Yes, well done with Tidal Bay, Carvillshill!
The best Cheltenham winner I’ve seen this year!
Krug ran a good race too, I thought.
‘Tis obvious you really know your game. A very good thread, imo.

The story here is simple- Jessie Harrington, Irish novice, get on! The formula is tried and tested in this race.

The fact that God stuck him straight in a maiden hurdle and won speaks volumes- this is a serious horse and I’ll be stunned if he is beaten today.

March 19, 2008 at 14:39 #1525861 pt win Mr Fluffy 4.35 Market Rasen 12/1 Hills, Skybet, Ladbrokes.
Has a good record in small fields, first time visor may help his jumping too, has slipped to a nice mark.
4th 9/1 -1 pt.March 20, 2008 at 13:10 #152820Lincoln Handicap, Doncaster Saturday.
1 pt each-way Rio Riva 12/1 Hills, Paddy Power, Betfred.
Having joined in the ante-post plunge on Zaahid I’m a bit miffed that he missed the cut but at least it’s money back. Michael Jarvis’ horse Prince Forever is priced up as a Group horse in a handicap which he may well be, but given his lack of big-field experience and with possible soft ground being an unknown, I can afford to swerve him at 7/1. This horse was second last year in this when it was run at Newcastle and seems to excel in straight-course big field handicaps with some ease in the ground. His record under those conditions is very consistent and with what should be a good draw in 5 he looks hard to keep out of the frame.
4th 17/2 +2 pts.1 pt win 1/2pt place Vitznau same race 12/1 generally.
Another who won’t mind a bit of give having run well on soft at Newmarket last backend, where he was arguably unlucky. Promises to stay the mile this year and should go well off a 3lbs higher mark. Came to hand early last year. Draw in 9 could be better, but comes from behind anyway so should be able to bag a possie on the rail and swoop late under the undertaker.
unpl 7/1 -1.5 pts.March 22, 2008 at 13:42 #1532931 pt win Fred’s Benefit 3.50 Fairyhouse, 11/2 guaranteed available
I’m keen to oppose Clopf here as he’s looked a weak finisher this year. Perce Rock has an obvious chance but Fred’s Benefit may be overpriced given that I think he’s much better right-handed. This trip is a minimum but I expect him to be ridden prominently, take it up when Drunken Disorderly falls and to be hard to catch under Ruby.
Pulled Up 7/2 -1 pt.March 22, 2008 at 16:55 #153311Drunken disorderly doesnt fall and carvillshill gets it wrong……too unusual things in the one race !
