This doesn’t look like being a very inspiring line up this year, so at 5-1, I’ve went with the tried and tested Commanche Falls, who I think had a very respectable 2022
March 30, 2023 at 18:16 #1641877It’s wide open. The fav El caballo is way too short imo will hate the soft/heavy ground and surely a likely non runner.
No pace in the race.
I like Vadream. Will love the ground and is race fit, however the mares a hold up horse which is a concern.
March 30, 2023 at 18:32 #1641878Prince ummm King Charles has sold Tactical..
16’s is okay.. 2 year old form was pretty decent, fallen way last year can the new trainer get him back on track as he certainly has talentGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
March 30, 2023 at 20:00 #1641885Ground will be a big issue for Tactical I think
March 30, 2023 at 22:21 #1641893I was thinking along the same sort of lines as you jimmy regards it being very open.
El Caballo could be a genuine G1 contender this season, he beat the Commonwealth Cup runner up in the Sandy Lane and then went off joint favourite with Perfect Power at Royal Ascot. There are obvious excuses there for his no show, he was badly drawn for starters but also they’ve run him on what was pretty quick ground and he’d had his injury problems at 2 and I’m assuming its left him pretty jarred again as he’s not been seen since. I wouldn’t be sure how he’ll handle softer ground but he’s the class act in the field if he’s over his injury problems that is for sure. They might not risk him.
Wasn’t really inspired by much behind him to be honest although Ehraz could take a big leap forward this season for the gelding op, he was a bit of a ‘wise guy’ pick for a few in the Commonwealth Cup and went off single figures and he wasn’t beaten a million miles either. Fast Response will get shorter I’d be sure of that she loves the mud and she loves Doncaster and I can see your angle with Vadream I’d just worry her strike rate is really bad which is probably partly due to her run style and being unlucky a few times, some of it she’s obviously been outclassed and this is more realistic.
The one I might throw a few quid at as she intrigues me is Wilderness Girl for Adrian Nicholls. She’s never run over sprint trips but she’s gone to a trainer who is very much a chip off the old block with sprinters, probably put in the best performance of her career at the backend of last season in the mud at Longchamp and she should love it being out of a daughter of Pivotal. Holly Doyle booked. Its a speculative one I must admit.
March 31, 2023 at 20:32 #1641962Plumped for Ehraz at 10/1. Mr. Hannon says he’s the best chance of a winner for Saturday and I’m inclined to agree, although I don’t know how he’ll get on with ground conditions.
He’s been tried at a good level and was a close 2nd the last time he was in this grade. Hopefully the gelding operation will iron out some of the issues he’s had.April 1, 2023 at 01:03 #1642026Fast Response for me.
She’ll love the conditions and proved she can beat the boys with Art Power behind her in 3rd and Commanche Falls in 5th last time out over course and distance. Haggas’s useful mare Tarhib was 2nd.
Fast Response has a 100% record at Doncaster in heavy ground and hoping she maintains that record later today.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 1, 2023 at 13:17 #1642085I’ve taken Ehraz here, I just missed the double figures, which I though was very appealing, but I’m happy still with 17-2
April 1, 2023 at 13:24 #1642094King’s Lynn 8.4/1
April 1, 2023 at 16:05 #1642135Well done with Vadream jimmy
She ran a blinder and the first 3 pulled away from the rest.

didn’t do her. Was too concerned about the pace then they ended up being prominent on her
still would have won either way kicking myself was 19/ 1 at the time I tipped. Picked King’s Lynn. 8.4/1 ended up 4/1J looked fat pre race….. had no kind of run either. It can kick you thus game. - AuthorPosts
