Not as many standouts for me this year, but of definite interest are Holloway Boy and This Song Is For You

Always liked Holloway, though he can’t seem to get his head in front recently, despite running consistently well. Should go well tomorrow in The Clipper, and it’s tempting to bet him, but I’ll hold off.

This Songisforyou ran well at Galway, and I think there’s more to come. I like an Antepost in this, and happy with 25’s, though would go in again if I seen bigger

    Edit – Topped up 33’s

    This Songisforyou 33’s

If This Songisforyou gets declared for Northfields, good chance I’ll cash out my bet at 25’s, and I’ll leave the top up bet at 33’s, as I’d be stuck with that

Left with the 33’s as planned, but happy with the situation after The Northfields

Antepost bet from a week ago.
    Majestic 50/1 each way.

Not sure it’ll get in or even run if the rains continue up to raceday.

    Moderate rain on Thursday
    Patchy rain on Friday and
    sunshine on Saturday🌟
should see the going as Good so think Majestic should take his chance Wilts.

I backed him last year when he dead heated for 4th place with Oviedo and will back him again but on the day as will be there.

My outsider for this is becoming a bit of a cliff horse for me but I just know he can win a race like this so it’s.

    Dutch Decoy – 33/1 – EW – Bet365

Behind Majestic in 5th in this race last year but now with a 4lb advantage. :good:
He also won’t want the ground too soft.

    Best of luck…Jac :good:

Yes Triptych, hoping he runs. Interestingly 365 had Majestic at 66s yday morn, was tempted to go in again, but resisted. Today he’s down to 33s (365), most other bookies have him at 25s or 20s.

The other one i like in this is Liberty Lane. 4 year olds have a good record in this and LL seems to not be ground dependent, plus Karl Burke’s have been in great form in the big Saturday races lately.
I ‘missed’ Lethal Levi last Saturday, even though i’d posted he was on my shortlist for the Ayr Gold Cup

Just wondering if it cuts up too much today that they may ‘save’ it for Saturday, and cancel tomorrow’s card.

Just a thought, as from Fri eve thru Saturday it looks dry.

    Navagio @ 66’s

Might not run but no harm done if he goes for the other option. I thought he was very unlucky in the Lincoln, he was stopped multiple times and would of finished closer to the winner with a clear run.

Should love the ground and headgear goes on for the first time since he won with them in Ireland on his first and last go in them.

    Never been known Wilts ..
Racing will go ahead at Newmarket tomorrow as planned but probably with diminished fields as today.
Just hoping there are no high profile withdrawals on Saturday. :rose: Jac

Looks like they never escaped the rain with 32 mm in the last 24 hours. Going now heavy.

Complete disaster today botchy with almost half the runners withdrawn.

Hopefully with no more rain today and with good drying winds the course will dry out but doubt Dutch Decoy will run he’s now out to 50/1.

    Theoryofeverything – 14/1 EW
    Is now my choice.
Ground no probs and by Frankel out of a Dark Angel mare.
Like to see a grey horse win this and at least I’ll have an idea where he is in running. :good: Jac

Current Gosden fav pretty much definite not going to run and even if he did then he would be seriously hindered by conditions. So why oh why is he bloody 13/2 in most places. Hello Rule 4 nice to meet you again. Should be priced up to mitigate this happening.

Anyway, had a thought, two weeks running a trainer tricast. David O’ Meara with BOPEDRO, THEORYOFEVERYTHING AND BENNETOT. Combi.
Also, small bets on those three at 12’s, 16’s and 22’s respectively with a go on JAMES MCHENRY at 40/1 who has been running well and won on soft ground last year.

Paddy Power paying 6 places so added..
    Balmacara & Liberty Lane.
    Drawn 1 and 4.

It seems to me this year all the horses with form on soft ground are drawn low (far side)
Still unsure if Dutch Decoy will take part but I have backed him at 33/1 along with
    Theoryofeverything drawn 4.

Dutch Decoy is drawn 20 which puts him in with good chance if he runs but it will have to dry out a lot more for him to take part..hope he does he runs well at Newmarket :good:

Best of luck this is going to be a tough one.
