Hi all
Wondered if you could help me. I’m in a quandry regarding Christmas shopping for someone.
Person in question is a Liverpool FC supporter and in particular hero worships that most annoying of creatures, Steven Gerrard.
However I quite like the person in question and would like to get them something they’ll like this year, and as they pointed at some signed print presentation thing of the Liverpool players who contributed to winning the World Cup, and another of Steve Gerrard with a signed shirt, that we saw in a window in a city miles away the other week and asked jokingly if I had a spare three grand he could borrow, I think that might be the way to go present wise.
However I a) don’t have three grand to spare and b) support Chelsea, so have no idea where there may be any hidden gem online store type things that would sell things like that to the Liverpool faithful.
Anyone on here know the best kind of places to go for this kind of sports merchandise stuff?
It’s either this or a Mr Potato Head rip off from Transformers called Optimash Prime. So please. Help.

Cheers

November 28, 2007 at 20:28 #127676Hehehe

Cheers UM
Tempting as it is to be really pedantic and in fact get him a Chelsea keyring, I was thinking along the lines of something signed by the dull Scouser himself, Sir Steve of Gerrard.
Which sadly there seems to be a lack of in Liverpool’s official store thingy. Or I’ve just overlooked them.
Which is possible, as I am somewhat dense.

November 28, 2007 at 20:49 #127683Expect you’ve already had a look but there seems to be quite a few things on Ebay, maybe not what you were looking for though.
There is a shop near me that sells genuine autographed framed prints, lots of football stars, film stars etc. I’ll be over there tomorrow so if they have a web address I’ll get it for you and let you know, if no one else comes up with anything, it might be useful.
Does he never smile? he has a sort of tortured look…his eyes are nice though

You could always buy something that he will like, then send it to Liverpool and ask politely if they could get Steven Gerrard to sign it. Better still, if you’re local to Liverpool, take it down and ask them.
I am almost certain they will oblige, as I know a youth coach in my local town who has requested many signatures on items from different clubs and he has never been let down. He sends things to be signed and then raffles them to get funds for the youth teams he is in charge off. Yes, I dare say it’s the tea lady who signs them, but the kids don’t know lol.
So you could always use a little white lie and say it’s for a good cause like a local school or something.
Failing all that, PM me as there is another option.
Good luck,
Mike

Thanks UM, that’s really nice of you!
The person I’m after buying for and I were in Nottingham when he saw the framed stuff I mentioned….annoying as we live in Norfolk and I didn’t have the brain capacity to think to see what the shop in question was called. There used to be one similar to what you described in the town nearest to me who would often have this kind of thing in the window….including a Frank Lampard signed shirt (mmmm, Frank Lampard….hehe) at one time…. typically it closed about a month ago!
But if they do have a website that’d be really great – thanks again.
And ebay could yet be the way forwards if not! Have been having a look. Turns out liking people who like Liverpool is verrrrrrry expensive LOL

November 28, 2007 at 21:53 #127699You could try and video a swan dive.
Would be like watching Gerrard near the penalty area.
November 28, 2007 at 21:57 #127700Why would Zoz want a video of Martins Gaz?

November 28, 2007 at 22:01 #127703Little Emily has just moved to liverpool from London and today is her first day of school.
"Well class today we have a new student joining us, her name is Emily" Said miss Walters (the teacher).
"Hello Emily" the class say.
"hi" Emily replies.
"What sort of thing do you like then Emily" said miss Walters.
"I like football miss" replied Emily.
"I support Liverpool!!" exclaimed Aaron
"we all support Liverpool in here" miss Walters said.
"uh no miss, I support Arsenal, they’re the best team in the world!" said Emily
Shocked at this miss Walters said "really? and why is it that you support Arsenal when you’re living in Liverpool?"
"Well miss my parents both support Arsenal, so that makes me an Arsenal supporter." Emily confidently replied.
Very angrily miss Walters said "so if your mother was a prostitute and your father was a drug dealer what would that make you?"
With a cheeky grin on her face Emily replied "A Liverpool fan."
