Looks ripe for me getting completely wrong this one…..

He’s short enough, but Speredek finished last season well in The Imperial Hurdle, and ran well in this also. Obvious player.
The one who looks very big to me is Double W’s. Very capable on his day, and I was surprised to see 14’s readily available. I’d certainly consider him too.
Yorkist might be more for the upcoming Aintree meetings, but despite his very low key return, I think that 33’s is more than fair. Back to his last winning mark, and if the weather forecast is in his favour, I could be tempted.
Speredek the obvious one for me then, but could be tempted by this pair….
Double W’s 14’s
Yorkist 33’sNovember 1, 2019 at 22:40 #1473556I like to see Speredek lead from start to finish. He is a bit better in the weights than last year and seems to like at here at Ascot.
Speredek 6/1
November 1, 2019 at 22:48 #1473558Same here DBR, I think he has a live chance.
I’m very glad I held off here, as the absence of Double W’s, takes away a bit of confusion, and I’ll take a chance on Yorkist for all that this might not be the day.
Speredek 13-2
Yorkist 40’s EW 4 PlacesNovember 2, 2019 at 00:37 #1473594Diego Du Charmil at 12s for me.
Not brilliantly handicapped but he has come down a bit and I think confidence in himself is more important than the weight on his back.November 2, 2019 at 01:51 #1473597I like Caid du Lin at 13/2 here. A CD winner who’s had a run already.
November 2, 2019 at 07:39 #1473609I lover speredek , heart in mouth every time a fence gets in the way though , love to see him win
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
November 2, 2019 at 10:40 #1473637Green, I went with Diego Du Charmil as well, he was just too big a price for me.
November 2, 2019 at 13:14 #1473701I have had a small punt on Diego du Charmil as well. It is not a race I have a strong view on but Nicholls on a Saturday is never a bad choice.
November 2, 2019 at 14:22 #1473711What do we reckon? Did he jump the fence?
November 2, 2019 at 14:28 #1473712I doubt they,ll chuck him out , lad did well to stay on his back
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
November 2, 2019 at 14:35 #1473714Well done all on Diego
November 2, 2019 at 14:48 #1473719Kept the race but Capeland got disqualified for not jumping the fence – rules don’t cover exactly what happened as the winner was ajudged to have jumped the fence (although he appeared to mostly go between the outer edge of the tallest part of the birch and the plastic wing).
I just hope Capeland is ok as he dragged along part of the wingpost with his hind legs.
November 2, 2019 at 15:00 #1473727Yes, I hope Capeland is OK. It was a nasty incident. Diego did well to get to the other side and to rally again. He travelled beautifully and jumped well until the last and would have been a very unlucky loser.
November 2, 2019 at 15:23 #1473734One could argue that by the rules of racing the stewards should have also looked at and possibly thrown out the winner for hampering Capeland when in with a winning chance – would have been harsh mainly because the winner has probably seen the lose horse going around the fence and has gone to follow that one but at no point has the jockey tried to switch his whip into his left hand to correct him.
Stewards probably thought that he has in some form jumped the very outer edge of the fences and decided with the rules not catering for this incident they had to leave him as the winner but extremely harsh in following the rules and disqualifying Capeland for not jumping the fence when there was no possible way that he could.
November 2, 2019 at 15:39 #1473740I hear what you say but I think the stewards had no choice with Capeland. He did not jump the fence.
