Bullet Train, whom this thread is about, deserves the chance at stud as an exceptionally well-bred pattern race winner.
There appears to be much naivete when it comes to racehorse vs stallion. In fact it is probably much easier to back a loser as a stallion than a racehorse.
Dubai Millennium, Ajdal and of course the 1983 All-Ireland hide ‘n’ seek champion never got the chance to prove how good they could have been through no fault of their own. On the racecourse Affirmed beat Alydar yet in the breeding sheds Alydar was vastly superior.
I don’t think anyone is disagreeing with you on any of that EF. You seem to see arguements in people that simply do not exist.

May 20, 2012 at 20:18 #404965I think the concerns about Bullet Train are justifiable, but his performance on Saturday proves he isn’t showing any ill-effects of being a rabbit.
Books about Seabiscuit recount that he became a visibly unhappy and insecure individual when used as a pacemaker on the gallops when a moderate performer for his first trainer.
Red Rock Canyon was probably another ruined mentally by pacemaking duties. He could tow Duke Of Marmalade along and plod on for 3rd/4th in a Group 1, but threw away plenty of opportunities in maidens when ridden like a proper racehorse.
