February 4, 2023 at 06:06 #1633638Racing Post breaking news….”HDLG appointed new agent to Bryony Frost and hits the ground running with new slogan: ‘The Frodon legend lingers, book our girl or I’ll break your fingers.’ HDLG was unavailable for comment.”

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"February 4, 2023 at 08:28 #1633650Her agent as listed on the Racing Admin site, is Sam Stronge. He has 28 NH jockeys on his books, including De Boinville, Cobden, Cannon, Jacob and Powell.
So if you contact him looking for someone to ride your horse, I don’t suppose Frost will be the first name he mentions.
Bryony is currently booked on seven horses trained by Lucy Wadham next week, but I don’t suppose all those will actually run.
February 4, 2023 at 11:35 #1633696I can’t really buy in to the conspiracy theories doing the rounds , that she is in some way being excluded by some form of closed shop.
In my view , she is not being used by many trainers or getting many rides , as quite simply , she is not a very good jockey.
Her ride on Pretending at Catterick yesterday was an example of this.
I know that this is not a fashionable opinion with many.
Her media persona has never been commensurate with her actual ability.February 4, 2023 at 11:35 #1633697Trainer ” I’m looking for a Jockey for Saturday ”
Agent HDLG ” Bryony Frost ”
Trainer ” Ah anyone else ”
Agent HDLG ” You want to run your horses or sleep with their heads …
Trainer ” Bryony it is ”
……. another satisfied customers
February 4, 2023 at 11:40 #1633700I’ve made the point coggy that she isn’t anywhere near as good as Rachel but she is a decent jockey , she gets horses to jump and is a very good judge of pace , this is actually a big weekend for Rachel , this season has been a non event so far
February 4, 2023 at 13:21 #1633754Most of the top male jockeys (both sides of the sea) are not anywhere near as good as Rachael and we can all point out good or even top jockeys that have made mistakes or given a horse a bad ride but to say she is not a very good jockey is quite frankly ridiculous, you don’t win top races that she has won if you are not very good and lets face it you only get better at if you are consistently riding the better class of horse.
With her no longer claiming, Nicholls will obviously look to his other claimers for some of the opportunities in handicaps that she would have got but she is still in the best place being attached to his stable to get access to the better class of rides even if they are second or even third strings.
Any injury to a non stable jockey will always mean it will be harder when you come back as you have to re-establish yourself and regain riding connections to other stables you may have lost due to being off. Also with an agent that reps a lot of big names means you will always likely to be lower down the list of names to be suggested for the few and far between big spare rides that become available.
Attitudes to female riders being equally as capable to the men over here are still behind the times and it would be interesting to note what would have happened had Bryony & Rachael been in each other’s situation….fairly sure Bryony might well have been given the same chance that Rachael did with Henry De Bromhead but I am not sure a big stable over here would have given even Rachael a first stable jockey job.
February 4, 2023 at 13:30 #1633758Yikes that was a fall
February 4, 2023 at 13:31 #1633759Long drive home to
February 4, 2023 at 13:37 #1633763Potentially she has one more ride in the 2:35 but that maybe in some doubt given how sore she looked when she got up
February 4, 2023 at 14:02 #1633776I’m on the wrong side of Scotland or id offer to give her a back rub ….
February 4, 2023 at 17:07 #1633869In the 14.35 at Musselburgh she gave the outside to no-one and was a beaten a nose…..
February 4, 2023 at 17:13 #1633870Things aren’t going her way , if she’s strong enough she,’ll come through it
February 4, 2023 at 18:28 #1633882HDLG would be a brilliant agent – he’d get people booking Bryony Frost who don’t even own horses.
With BigG as his henchmen, everyone would be too terrified of the duo to ever decline.

For all we know that could have been the instructions she was given or she felt the horse needed a clear sight of the obstacles and didn’t want to be crowded whatever the case it wasn’t as bad as the ride Townend gave Lossiemouth today.
February 4, 2023 at 23:37 #1633909You are correct LD, my rash judgement fuelled by my wallet.
February 4, 2023 at 23:56 #1633912Understandably frustrating to be on the wrong end of a close result like that though
