BMG rated 164 can be taken with a massive pinch of salt. Look at the race he’s won.
RWF is 158 ffs. Franco De Port 161.
The UK handicapper does a job at making things up as he goes along.
BMG is good yep, but does Galopin beating him 10ls at Cheltenham make him up there with Shishkin already? Nah handicapper’s making a balls of everything as per.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!February 16, 2022 at 21:24 #1583542BMG beat the second by 3 and a half lengths giving 16 pounds so got 5 pounds. He had to go up for it in truth, and the second was left unchanged. So the second would get a 5 pound pull in a theoretical rematch for the dead heat.
March 3, 2022 at 11:02 #1585566Bit of a move for GDC here on the exchange
Was 8.0 ish now getting matched as low as 3.90
March 3, 2022 at 12:17 #1585568Same shi*t as every year…you might think that it’s all about good odds on the exchanges for the inner circle. just thinking about the bad Ferny Hollow drift a night before the champion bumper…
March 9, 2022 at 13:35 #1586239I bet two here. One of them won’t be running obviously which is Run Wild Fred. The other is Dusart at 33-1 ew, but I’m hoping he runs on the Thursday
March 16, 2022 at 01:19 #1587424Beacon Edge was a better hurdler than most of these. Hoping today he proves himself over fences.
I’ll take 12/1 ew
March 16, 2022 at 05:42 #1587428Jack BMG was always going to be a chaser , anything he achieved as a hurdler was a bonus , this year he,s not touched a twig , smashed up ah segnor who nearly went to a gold cup , Jesus h Nicholls has mentioned him in the same breath as Denman , Galopin has beaten nothing in the same class as ah segnor , master mcshee got beat beat by sizing potsie at the weekend …low 150 horses , BMG beat a 157 rated ah segnor by 7 lengths at Xmas ,l’m struggling to see where your coming from with this , knocking the best novice form seen the season while talking up a horse who hasn’t raced a proper racehorse yet , Galopin maybe the real deal but is it telling he,s dodged racing here , gold cup horses surely run here ?
March 16, 2022 at 09:28 #1587452Read what i said HDLG.
It’s about the ratings given out.
Nothing about a horse being a chaser or talking up another horse? All i said was if BMG is 164 on what he’s achieved and Galopin was to beat him 10ls are we just going to give another MAD high rating.
Wake up too early?

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!March 16, 2022 at 09:43 #1587454No Jack , did you ? , why don’t u apply for the handicappers job …you know better ? , we,ll know more later today /tomorrow , personally it’s a shame they wouldn’t take BMG on
March 16, 2022 at 10:05 #1587460Wait so since RWF is 158 what should Stattler be now?
I’m not questioning the horse’s chance today HDLG. You’re missing my points, but we move on before the thread runs off on a tangent…….

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!March 16, 2022 at 10:26 #1587464Decent race this. Was gonna sit it out, but keep coming back to Gailard Du Mesnil. He’s coming along nicely, and I think he might just be overpriced.
As I said though, some race, and could be with most of them. Was at the preview night in Motherwell last week, and L’Homme Presse was really popular. Didn’t quite see it myself, but watched him back a few times, and I’ve came round to him in a big way. Very good chance I’ll bet him for Gold Cup. Very rare that I pay heed to anything I hear at these preview nights, as it’s usually a load of waffle, but it was enough to give him a second look.
Gailard Du Mesnil 18’s
March 16, 2022 at 11:49 #1587501Had another look at Gaillard du Mesnil’s last race there- you’re right, he’s improving- I had written him off as a poor jumper but he’s getting there. His small size means there’s less margin for error but on the plus side it makes him jump economically, a huge big lolloper can just stand back and launch if they’re not quite right, but being little is a tougher schoolmistress (as Tiger Roll and Galvin discovered- neither of those were brilliant jumpers to start with- speaking of which, is GDM your NH chase horse for next year, if he places today and has a spin round at Punchestown behind Galopin? ). It was a good performance to split Bob O and BmG in the Ballymore last year considering he’s a year younger. He’s by Saint des Saints out of a half sister to Calie du Mesnil, who had a couple of decent 3m handicap hurdle runs for Mullins at the big spring festivals, so could improve for the trip. I’ve joined you ew 4 places.
Still, will be cheering on Capodanno, the only one of my 3 antepost bets for this race who made it to the big day. Only one 6 year old has won this in recent years- but that was Mullins trained Don Poli. Come on Danno!
March 16, 2022 at 13:00 #1587530Bravemansgame 11-2 ew. Keeping the faith.
March 16, 2022 at 13:13 #1587537Fury Road and am waiting for my Betfair free bet to bet on Farouk D – i think it appears after 1st race settled.
