Listen to Fist’s advice – Conduit ran at Sandown for a reason.

And why did Tartan run at Sandown then Reet?
A run before The Tattersall’s Gold Cup.
Prince Of Wales Stakes is up next for him in 3 weeks. He’ll get his ground I expect and will raise his game with better competition. He was going for the Eclipse but after his absence I guess they had to re-route. Golan enjoyed Ascot so I expect his brother too also.

Would still be leaning more towards King George than Eclipse with him though m’self- we know he stays so well.
Possibly Carv but, as a Leger winner, a 10f gp1 would sit much better with his stud prospects.
No doubt he’ll improve for the run, and probably be made more use of in future. Maybe would benefit from a pacemaker in the Eclipse – a possible role for Tartan Bearer?
May 30, 2009 at 00:11 #231004Tartan Bearer would probably beat Conduit over 1m2f, but it doesn’t matter they will never square off.

I was being a little facetious, though I sincerely doubt Tartan Bearer will finish the season rated within 10lbs of Conduit.May 30, 2009 at 04:39 #231036I always say, and I have said this when he had only 1 run, put any horse in front of it he’ll do his utmost to catch it.
Underate him at your peril is what I say. He will get his G1 after being robbed from The Irish Derby.
