Perhaps some jockeys have tried turning "supergrass" but without hard evidence it’s a waste of time, and it would certainly finish their careers.
It’s only places like Betfair, where accounts are necessary, and details are passed to the HRA, that evidence can be linked to those with the information.
All this still doesn’t prove any horses were stopped. You can only match what you know, with what you see, and that’s not good enough.July 10, 2007 at 18:36 #107192There is a world of difference betweeen penning something libellous on a racing forum, and making repeated postings with airy-fairy insinuations, and without an iota of substance to justify them.
You can’t be serious?? As Wallace points out, certain things cannot be talked about on a public forum. I won’t "stick your silly innuendo where the sun don’t shine!" either as for starters it isn’t silly or innuendo – but then what would you know about what I know?
Look, if you want to live in your chocolate box world and believe that all jockeys are straight and (to believe the bullsh*t put out by the HRA) that "British Racing is the straightest in the world" then good luck to you. Just don’t start whinging next time you lose a fiver backing a favourite that wasn’t ridden on its merits or you think received a poor ride.

An interesting notion. Perhaps there are undercover investigators masquerading as jockeys in order to out the wronguns – it would certainly explain a lot!!!
July 10, 2007 at 21:46 #107238reet hard, I don’t know how involved you are or have been with bookmakers, trainers or jockeys but I have been involved in this community for most of my adult life. I have seen and been involved on the fringes of corruption in racing and opted out of these situations.
As stated earlier I suffered first hand as a result of a jockey not trying on a horse I part owned. I went into the ring of a northern course to back this horse and was told by one of the best informed bookmakers ever to work on course, the horse was not off! I stood in disbelief watching the race as the jockey completely ignore instructions and pulled the horse up.
There is still a lot of corruption going on but recent bans and pending court cases have forced the cheats to be more subtle. I am surprised that with all of the investigations in the last few years a group of people at the center of some of the scams have not been mentioned, jockeys agents.
July 10, 2007 at 23:00 #107258Totally agree with you Wallace. The corruption is still going on regardless of what the HRA say. A whole new generation of young jockeys (they want rides) are being ‘groomed’ and you are correct, some agents, along with some trainers and owners, are heavily involved.
Those who are honest need to stop sitting on the fence and help sort this problem out before racing suffers. I love the sport and it makes me so angry that the cheats flourish whilst others pay the price.July 10, 2007 at 23:23 #107267reet hard, I don’t know how involved you are or have been with bookmakers, trainers or jockeys but I have been involved in this community for most of my adult life. I know this is a pretty serious thread, but on a lighthearted note, wouldn’t it be bloody lovely if a certain Orange[/color:2rl3f1o5] coloured ex jockey agent, was found guilty of skullduggery and jailed for 5 years, we would be rid of him altogether off our screens, and may he drop the soap in the prison shower while sharing it with a bunch of lifers
