    I cant understand the jist of this thread, are you two trying to say Mark’s horses only try when it suits him?

    Think the point is that the yard’s horses are being backed and laid by persons who seem to know the horses chgances very well :roll:

    I think you are giving far too much credit to racing’s Mr Scattergun. Johnston appears to have one plan – to run horses as often as possible.

    There have been many occasions this season when someone’s money has been down and things have gone badly astray. Just to cite three examples: Bay Willow given an awful ride by Dettori and outpaced by Times Up in a Newmarket handicap; Emerging Artist beaten by stable companion at the Shergar Cup and Capponi again given a nothing ride by Dettori and hampered by his own stable companion at York.
