Henry Cecil has always held this filly in high regard but she took a bit of time to get right.
Cecil has tried her over 5, 6 and 7 furlongs and at one time was touted as a decent Guineas prospect for him.
As the filly turned 3 she seems to have really grown up and started a new lease of life. After being turned over at 5f FTO this season she’s now 2 out of 2 over 6f including being the first filly for a very long time to win the Coral Sprint at Newmarket.
Is there anyone better at bringing fillies on? Could she turns into a July Cup horse?
May 23, 2009 at 19:10 #229657Am going to keep an eye on Servoca who Bouvardia impeded really badly at Nottingham; what a madam Bouvardia is; she must be a nightmare to train!
May 23, 2009 at 19:13 #229662Didnt I hear that she had to be backed out the parade ring today? Took ages to go down to the start too.
Then again – how many times do we hear of the decent fillies playing up before races or having a bit of a quirk? Zarkava, albeit not in the same class, is a perfect example
May 23, 2009 at 20:25 #229679She idled again today and won with god only knows in hand. Saw far too much daylight early on and had me worried as I thought she may not put her best foot forward at the finish – and she didn’t! One to follow for sure IMO.

Yes, he has trained many very good fillies, including one of my favourites in Indian Skimmer, but most are a distant memory.
Unfortunately, the appropriately named Passage Of Time is a more recent memory.
