I’m going to give this a go more seriously. I think my record of betting is 43 straight losers so will add £500 to the bank to level stakes. £10/bet.
This year i am only going to back to win at decent prices which will always be in televised races or some good Irish races.Apart from Ante Post bets i generally only have about 3-4 bets / week.
Lets have a try at this.

My first bet was placed yesterday @25’s but for the threads purposes i will take the 20s available on Witness in court 1.40 Muss
I backed this LTO at Aintree at a big price. He has a poor record there but on the whole jumped really well and to my eyes had most horses on the stretch before falling. I’m quite sure he would of gone close to winning if not falling and in this lesser race could get them all on the go.
Lost – Bank £490
January 1, 2017 at 11:52 #1279633Good luck Botchy
January 6, 2017 at 18:57 #1280460Going in with an Ante Post bet on Ar Mad to win this @ 4’s Clarence House
Beaten by the FAV last time out having his first run for some time. A couple of mistakes during the race but stayed on well at the end and i fancy him to reverse placings here.
Altior’s still a novice and a probable doubtful runner in this.
Meeting abandoned
January 9, 2017 at 18:47 #1281072Once again an AP bet on Ar Mad to win the Champion Chase without Douvan @ 9’s
A lot has been made that the horse is not as good going left handed which is mainly due to a bad performance at Plumpton FTO last season. He returned to Plumpton to test that theory for connections in his last race over the course before going on to the Arkle.
Unfortunately after winning the race he was found to be lame and missed Cheltenham.
Running from the front i think this horse could be the only one to put any pressure on Douvan this year so think he is well worth a bet @ 9’s without Douvan in this race.
Due to run in the Clarence House and another G1 afterwards. Hopefully he becomes the biggest danger to Douvan.

January 12, 2017 at 18:52 #1281623PP going NRNB now on the 4 main races. Ar Mad to win Champion Chase @ 20’s NRNB
Non Runner
January 12, 2017 at 20:18 #1281638That’s a very decent price, if he runs I think he’s got a good chance of placing.
January 13, 2017 at 20:17 #1281831Another NRNB bet. This time for the Champion Hurdle.
The race looks a bit muddled at the moment but just 11 months ago my pick was favourite to win after Faugheen was ruled out.Certainly seems to be the forgotten horse for this market.
Arctic fire to win @ 33’s. Big price for the only horse to get close to the ” machine ” at Cheltenham.
Non Runner
January 14, 2017 at 11:09 #1281960Doesyoudogbite E/W @ 20’s WH in any race
An improving horse with a few entries at the Festival. Priced generally @ 16’s for the Coral Cup so 20’s for any race looks a bit of value.
Ivanovich Gorbatov E/W @ 20’s WH in any race.
Had a few quiet runs in top races this year and dropped a few pounds to be in handicap range now. Triumph form has worked out well with Apples Jade ( gave 7 lbs ) going on to become a leading candidate for Cheltenham.
Almost certainly going to be targeted at Cheltenham and again looks a bit of value.
2 x £ 5.00 E/W bets
January 15, 2017 at 11:57 #1282195Fine Rightly to win @ 11/4 2.40 Kelso
Very poor run today Lost Bank 480
January 15, 2017 at 19:45 #1282274Thought i needed to add another AP bet before this one shortens further.
Went off second favourite last year for the Triumph. Trainer admitted later it was his mistake to run him so quickly there.
This year he has had a couple of runs and the last race is of interest.
In a listed race at Sandown he attempted to give Brain Power 2 lbs and ran very keenly to run 5th.Brain Power is now rated 162 so in hindsight an impossible task.
In second was Consul De Thaix who he was giving 12 lbs to and now rated 140.
Since the books opened the other day he was cut straight away across the boards. I just missed the 40’s but got some E/W 33’s and 25’s to win. Dropped to a mark of 141 for the Betfair Hurdle.
Zubayr to win @ 20’s which i have just took as well.
Looking like being my bet of the NH season up to now.Hopefully he gets there

Lost – Bank £445
January 21, 2017 at 11:48 #1283085Been chipping away on Heartbreak City @ 10-1 to win any race at Cheltenham
Hopefully a good win in Ireland gets him into contention for Cheltenham

N/R Bank £ 435
January 26, 2017 at 21:37 #1283917An interesting market currently for Top owner at Cheltenham
Wylie @ 25’s with PP & BFSB win only
I thought he might of come in a bit with AP not running now.
Basically a 4 horse race
10/11 JP
15/8 RR
11/2 GIGGJanuary 28, 2017 at 11:43 #12841762 bets for me today
Southfield Royale to win @ 8’s BOG
Saphire De Rheu to win @ 6’s BOG
And a £5 Double on them
Both capable of better i’m sure. SDR was well fancied for Newbury where he fell and today is judgement day over fences for him. Trainer stated he would have one more run before Cheltenham and for certain plenty of schooling has gone into him since Newbury.

Lost Bank £455
January 29, 2017 at 09:34 #1284428Couple more NRNB bets @ WH Cheltenham Insurance
Cause of Causes Ultima H’cap @ 25’s to win
Brain Power Champion Hurdle @ 12’s to win
February 2, 2017 at 16:43 #1285338NRNB on Monalee @ 14’s to win the Neptune Hurdle
February 3, 2017 at 07:35 #1285434NRNB on Golden Doyen @ 20’s to win Pertemps Hudle
Stayed on well to beat edge out stablemate for good measure at Cheltenham in October.
Put up 3 lbs to 143 which will get him into this race ok.
“This is a real good-ground horse so you won’t see him again until Cheltenham in March.” Hobbs said after Cheltenham
Hopefully he makes up for If in Doubts run last year
February 3, 2017 at 07:59 #1285439NRNB on Old Guard @ 33’s to win Coral Cup
I have been watching this fellow quite closely lately. Nicholls has done a good job getting him down to 150. His last 2 runs he has raced very wide all the way round but still put up a good show over 3 miles off level weight with the Stayers Hurdle favourite. Also giving 8 lbs to Cole Harden and 6 to West Approach with the amount of ground he lost was no mean effort.
Probably 3 miles is just too far but this 2 mile 5 should be spot on.If this race is the target then he could have a great chance

Bloody hell, just read Lydias article, i could of saved some time and copied hers
