If McTigue is withdrawn and the weights rise, it possibly becomes a different race.

    I’m hoping he is withdrawn

I’d quite like my money back

I think that would be the optimum outcome as I consider him one of the worst handicapped horses in training.

Such a tricky race to work out, find it so hard to know which of the Irish horses have been giving it 100% in their recent runs and which have only been half-cooked to ensure a lower mark.

I say that in contrast to the other handicaps of the festival where I find it relatively easier to work out who’s been trying all season and who hasn’t.

TC, I think you could be on to something with Perseus Way. He’ll take some stopping if he can put it all together on the day. Would have beaten Nusret soundly if everything hadn’t gone to pieces from the 3rd last onwards.

I agree ham, I actually backed Afadil at Taunton in a Paul Nichols 9/1 treble when he was making his british debut in January, he beat donkeys that day but won in a proper canter, his win after that was also done very snuggly, both runs reeked of ‘keep his mark down for the plot job’. I’m very happy to keep him onside despite what looks a strong Irish contingent full of plot jobs itself!

Backed Tekao earlier this year and happy to see his favourite at this moment. Although this always seems to be a lottery. Also added Perseus Way. I think he could have run in the Triumph for a place, but he is running here. 132 doesn’t seem to bad and the soft ground will help.

    Tekao 11/1
    Perseus Way 12/1

I’ve only just realised that my favourite horse in training, Mr Freedom, is in the race. It could make it quite interesting. He’s a bit of a monkey.

Going with Sundial here. Seen enough of him to think he’s kept a bit back, and though not bet him yet, I’ll be eyeing the market for any support. Currently 16’s

Tekao stinks of a graded horse in a handicap, especially after the last day. I do like Mighty Mo Missouri at a big price each way. Progressive, has decent bit of experience and Jessie Harrington still knows what she’s doing despite her sad health problems.

Id backed Afadil for the triumph so will be trying to get my money back here , def see the Tekao angle but it’s intriguing that Pauling has but up Blackmore on Bad and put him straight in here , not sure what he,s beaten in France but he did it easily , Pauling also has a decent strike rate at the festival in recent years

Moehat, I follow Mr Freedom also but think he may be out of his depth here.
I know he’s a tricky enough customer but some of the rides he’s been given this season have been abysmal. Dunne on him the last day was a disgrace.
