Charlie Appleby’s Guineas heroes are not expected to reappear on the track anytime soon, with the Moulton Paddocks trainer raising the possibility Desert Flower could be retired to the paddocks without racing again.
Appleby, William Buick and Godolphin secured a clean sweep of the Newmarket Classics in May, when Ruling Court claimed the 2,000 Guineas from Field Of Gold, before Desert Flower extended her unbeaten streak at the time to five with a length defeat of Flight in the 1,000 Guineas.
