Agree with Ginger. I used to have a lot of time for Hanagan but that ride was a disgrace. His attitude afterwards did not make it better.

He had a great career, rode a lot of winners and was Champion Jockey twice – but that ride was a shocker from such an experienced jockey.

Hanagan may have had some good rides in the distant past, Nathan. But what he did at Royal Ascot spoilt his record and my point is: Considering his recent jockeyship – Hanagan’s retirement can imo only be safer for Racing.

Thanks for the updates vf, wishing them all long and happy retirements.

Achille was very much on the downgrade last season so the time seems right. Am a bit more surprised to see Dingo Dollar’s name as Sandy Thomson has had a lot of success with veterans, and the horse won his sole venture in that sphere last season.

Great to see Shark Hanlon posting a photo of Cape Gentleman having arrived safely in America. Seems a long time since Aintree but he’s finally made it. Hope that he and his owners have many happy years together.

Junoesque twelve time winner (including eight at Brighton) and a horse I’ve been a bit part owner of for the last couple of seasons has been retired after picking up a small injury.
Whilst we could have kept going with her a bit longer there seemed no point in taking that risk especially as our intention is to breed from her.
We’ve also in recent times retired Paddy K (most exasperating horse I’ve ever been involved with), Katie K and Los Camachos.
